I have to say. After I lost my data for Red Version years ago, I fell out of playing Pokemon at all. I tried playing it a handful of time over the time since, but with all the new Pokemon I just got turned off from it.

That being said, I can honestly say I can't wait for it. It's such a different take on Pokemon and I genuinely want to play it. Can't wait for the official release!


Also. PenPen as an Elite Four. I approve so much.

Yui should obviously be the mom character who gives yo running shoes an such. Kyoko.... I Kinda want to say be your rivals parents like in certain games, or something; but I think she would probably be better off as the Bill or Officer Jenny/Nurse Joy replacement. I clicked that link again, and it was only code. However, when I read the top of the code, it said something like, "This application must be used in Win32."

I have a Mac... :(

That'd be the DOS header for a windows executable being displayed as text.

If my knowledge of Pokemon Red/Blue/Green serves me correctly, Pen-Pen would be the Poison-type Elite Four. That's when my mind seriously goes "What the fuck?!"

I think a lot of people would view him as ice but i see him as a dark or ghost type.

Regarding the Elite Four, their Pokemon teams are going to be a good bit different from the original Elite Four.

Regarding Legendary Pokemon, none of the originals are going to be replaced. The Legendary Pokemon count is just going to be increased with any new additions.

Kensuke = Bill. That one shoulda been obvious. :p

The role of Yui... not too sure of that yet, but I've got an idea. Which I don't want to divulge, sorry! But the female "guardian" of Shinji is Misato, of course.

Sorry you are unable to try the demo, Merkaba. But rest assured that the final game will be coming to Mac, hopefully not too long after the Windows version.

Anyway, here's a mockup of what I want the battle screen to generally look like:

The AT fields are simply a form of defense.

Sync ratios... well in the most basic sense, it works similarly to the ATB meter of some Final Fantasy games.

Unlike the FF ATB system though, you don't have to wait for the meter to completely fill to be able to do anything. You can execute an action at any time you feel like, so long as you have the sync ratio required by the specific action. And different actions will have different sync costs, naturally.

Also unlike the FF ATB system, the sync ratio is persistent outside of battle and continues to increase as you walk around. And there will be certain risks associated with letting the sync ratio get too high... ;)

I'd say the Sync Ratio that Shinji reached in Zeruel battle would pretty much be an instant GO, or at very least battle over and instant transport to Pokemon Center. Will we see Mana, Mayumi or any other "non-canon", AU characters appearing? Will the NGE related Legendary Pokemon have their own special place like Mewtwo's Unknown Cave, The Burnt Tower, etc? I also imagine like most Legends that a majority will be one chance only. Though a few of them will likely be like the birds and dogs, that you have to chase to catch.

Sounds a bit of a challenge. But will that character be Shinji rather than red?

Damn you! :finger:

All legendaries will have their own unique place, but you won't be able to catch all legendaries on a single playthrough.

Non-canon characters are... non-likely. Sorry.

Regarding the character sprite, it'll be Shinji. The Red sprite is just temporary.

The final game will be playable on Macs as a native Mac app, so no emulator will be required. You'll just open it like any other Mac application.

Sorry that this demo is PC-only, but you're not missing out on anything. It's basically just the intro with Professor Akagi, followed by the ability to walk around Pallet Town. You can't even enter any of the buildings or interact with anything.

I'll try to make the next demo available for Mac as well, but we'll see.

I really like the idea of the Synch Ratio. It's a little better, in my opinion, than the limited number of uses in normal Pokemon games.
