I've seen strange things in the fandom, but this has to be one of the strangest:

The moment I ran across this thing, I thought to myself "Rei has to be the least Hello Kitty-like character in the Eva-verse, unless we're talking about Rei In Appearance Only or her AU incarnation in Episode 26..."

Though I don't doubt Ibuki has a slew of Hello Kitty stuff hidden where people can't tease her about it or glare at it.

I hate mcdonalds because their mascot is a creepy spooky clown who looks like he smells funny. Seriously every time I see ronald I think he's secretly some sort of rapist who turns people into hamburgers. Also their food sucks. -Defectron
Our plumbing is messed up and my dad will not call anybody because he's a cheap asshole. Fuck you old man, fucking call someone. Some of us want to stay sanitary. -backseatjesus

The fact that Hello Kitty and Rei Ayanami are both voiced by Megumi Hayashibara may have some relevance here.

nahh, not really, but she's the most famous and perhaps most profilic one for good reason :P
