In the final volume, though, I thought it was funny that Kensuke is the only Eva pilot who doesn't appear at all. It was like the mangaka forgot him entirely. (Not that I blame her.)

Poor Kensuke! He's the SOL character of all the EVA universe!

I thought the Mangaka was actually a guy?

I went to their site and that's the impression I got.

It has it's charm, I think. But I would have preffered a better kind of art.

So, should I get the remaining volumes or just leave it at two?

It depends on what you like, pairing-wise, and if you can tolerate the Shinji/Asuka route this manga takes at it's end.

What's cute about how it's done, though, is you are left kinda guessing before the end on which girl (Rei or Asuka) Shinji truly likes.

Unlike the Ikari Shinji Raising Project Manga where Shinji and Rei obviously like each other but the Mangaka has to be "lol Mysterious!" and make the audience think it'll end A/S, despite his overall VERY poor attempts at a coherent plot.

Ahem, sorry.

So, yeah. It depends on which pairing you like. (After all, there's always the GoS2 game where you can have it as A/S, R/S and to a lesser extent K/S.)

Heh. I didn't even realize that, but that's kinda funny in sad way. ^_^;

I don't know about that. The cover to volume 4 ruins any suspense by showing the final outcome.

I remember flipping to the first page (scanlated, at the time) and seeing what I would later find out was supposed to be Asuka. It's one of the few times something I read really made me say "What the ----?"

Or "WTF," as it's commonly referred to. The writing wasn't anything special. It reminds me of The Batman (the cartoon show). I tried to like it and gave it several chances to get better... Each time, I wasn't pleased. At least the alternative manga, while not much better in terms of writing, was easier on the eyes.

Well, it's not that I particularly like any pairings, really. But I thought the first two volumes were fun, and the remaining volumes are fun, too? They don't turn all schmaltzy and romantic, do they?

They do get kinda mushy/lovey dovey in Volumes 3 and 4, but they have their charm's as well. If you've got the spare cash, give them a shot.

There are torrents of it out there, although they're untranslated.

Reichu has a walkthrough on her site at evacommentary.org that tells you all you need to know. Actually you don't need to know much moonspeak to play the game, in my opinion, although it will certainly help your enjoyment of the game.

I rather liked the game, actually. I wish they'd do another one like that.

One question, somebody can explain me why ADV named this manga ANGELIC DAYS and not his real name THE IRON MAIDEN 2ND¿?¿?

Because "IRON MAIDEN 2ND" wouldn't have made any sense to US consumers?

Or possible copyright/trademark violation with the band?

-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

Most American otaku probably don't even know there was an IRON MAIDEN 1st (and personally, I wish I didn't...)

They could have just called it GIRLFRIEND OF STEEL as well, but didn't do that either. I suppose calling it ANGELIC DAYS makes it look more...shojo-ish...

But I could totally imagine some metalhead ordering IRON MAIDEN 2ND from Amazon.com and getting this manga instead.

I don't understand why they didn't just call it Girlfriend of Steel 2, the Japanese name (translated). I guess that has to do with the silly fact that since the GoS1 and GoS2 games weren't released Stateside? But still, I don't see why that would make a difference!
