I agree. She basically leaked information Netflix didn't want the public to know and leveraged her fans to put pressure on the company.
All that while she advertised her Weed is Amazing show on YouTube.
(I mean, I don't disagree on that point... It's just... did she really think Netflix would want to work with someone like that? Especially since her work on EoE is highly frowned upon?)

Whatever guys. Netflix is gonna Netflix, Amanda's gonna Amanda, Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate, I don't care.
Honestly, I'm simply torn between whether or not its healthier for Eva in the long run for Netflix to keep a cast that consistent with at least the Funimation dubs, since those two properties will basically be released simultaneously with one another and anything else might cause massive confusion in the "dubs only" audiences being introduced to Evangelion, or it it's healthier for Eva if Netflix were to recast everyone so that "American Actor ____________" isn't forever tied with "Japanese Character ______________." Let's face it, depending on how serialized Eva becomes in Japan (Anno did express an interest in making Eva the "New Gundam" or whatever, within terms of longevity of a continuing series), not even Megumi Ogata can always return to play Shinji. So why expect Spike Spencer of that?
Ultimately I'll probably still watch the subs over the dubs anyway. Though, if they do change the dubs, I'll dip into it here and there just to see what's up.

The second claim is just plain wrong. Yes, in speech, they'll call it "Shin Evangelion", but this is no different from how they'd say, e.g., "Evangelion Gekijouban" in speech instead of "End of Evangelion". Both titles are very much official. (Or have you not noticed that the "You ___ (Not) _____" titles are used in Japan-only advertising and on Japan-only packaging...?) This two-title phenomenon has been true for every part of Anno's Evangelion saga from the very beginning. Even in "the west", the Japanese titles can't get truly erased, since both title cards are right there in the final product.

Japan (= randon Satoshi watching the movie once in theaters and then moving on with his life) will call the movie as Shin Evangelion was my point.

Potential updates on the dub studio:
Studiopolis is the company that dubs the FF games, Lupin stuff, VIZ Sailor Moon, etc.

Dubbing Brothers responding “GET OFF MY LAWN!” to the caller. Looks like the next few weeks will be full of cringe.

Trying to get hired (which is what this looks like to me) is almost certainly a way of guaranteeing that it doesn't happen.

You know what, this mess is actually kinda funny. Literally nothing has been officially said but there are already countless petitions, fans stalking every possible dubbing studios and voice actors lobbying.
What an unprofessional shitshow.

It's just the internet being the internet.
A very vocal minority comprised of maybe - MAYBE - 2% of the viewers who will ultimately see NGE on Netflix are running around making assumptions and guesses that other people are passing off as fact.
Netflix probably has everything set and in motion for whatever they're going to do for NGE -Did I miss it or has Netflix actually made an announcement confirming they're redubbing the series because so far all I've seen is hearsay from randos on Twitter with no affiliations with the dubbing industry and the original voice dub actors forcefully injecting themselves into the discussion in attempt to get the job? - and all this noise online is just noise.

Is there a fanbase that features an even more retarted passionate fanbase than Evangelion?

No officially publicized announcement of dubs yet. Don’t know if Amanda Winn Lee counts as a Twitter rando (I dunno, maybe she does), but she certainly isn’t the voice of god in this affair either.

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019
It certainly seems like the "original" dub pilot trio have been pushing to play Shinji/Asuka/Rei again through social media. I mean, it's a nice gesture in terms of giving dub fans what they want* (if there was a proper script with the old dub voices, it could work) but.....Yeah. Their approach to the whole thing feels pretty unprofessional. At the end of the day, Netflix will do this however they want via their studio contracts, etc, etc.
*Somebody please refresh my memory: Was there this much of an uproar with Rebuild, or because it was in Funi's hands, AWL and other cast members simply couldn't return? (Since only Misato/Shinji/Asuka did.)
Netflix Spain, Latin America, and Italy getting NGE redubs is why it's assumed there's an "across the board" language redub.

Well... judging by the last few years, Star Wars is certainly one I can think of, same with Star Trek.
Twitter rando in this instance seems accurate considering she's vying for a job.

Well... I mean that's nice of them to try, but bumming on Twitter for a job isn't exactly going to work with Netflix... even Ryan Reynolds had to fondle some balls to get Deadpool made

Voted in college to be Most likely to Take Over the World, how to do that however, will require at least Four Evangelions. Thanks for the idea Misato-san!

I’ll fully admit that the dub is far from perfect, but those performances have grown on me despite their flaws. At this point it seems really odd to imagine anyone else besides Spike, Tiffany, or Allison voicing their English counterparts. Might be in the minority, but I hope they get a chance to be apart of the redub.
On a separate note, Spike Spencer recently took to Facebook and mentioned he was headed for an audition, which was “something he’s done many times before, is important and an emotional one for him.” Hmmm...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019
I don’t want to nag but has any company in Latin America confirmed they’re doing a new dub? I don’t see where this confirmation is coming from. I searched Google, Twitter and a few other places for a confirmed announcement that Latin America, Italy & Spain are getting a new dub & there was nothing official I could find. Only “announcement” has been from that one twitter account mentioned earlier in the thread who just says these areas are getting a new dub without any provided source. He just seems like some guy.
Anywho, anything is in fair in the gig economy but I don’t see the original cast lying about their being a new dub so if/when Netflix redubs Eva I see them using the Rebuild cast or do something very similar. Keep Spencer as Shinji, Grant as Asuka, probably bring back Keith as Misato and then the rest is up for grabs between the Rebuild cast and new voices.
Also there’s a good argument for every fan base being the worst but my go to answer has always been and will most likely always be BATMAN fans. A LOT of great stories & characters have come out of Batman’s long & varied history but there’s just something about the juvenile wish fulfillment fantasy of being an insanely wealthy billionaire who shuns social interactions, dresses in “cool” dark clothing & goes around town beating up “evildoers” with zero due process that brings out the worst in certain people(men) if they don’t grow up properly.

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019
Yeah, the cast behavior is honesty fine. They’ve been in the business a while, so they actually know more on navigating this opportunity than most would. (A lot of it reminds me of when Steven Lang campaigned to play Cable in Deadpool 2, which was an idea I loved at the time.) Random fans calling every dubbing studio just to get confirmation and casting, on the other hand, is plain ol’ dumb and annoying. (Though, I guess it should be expected at this point.)
Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019
The only hint/rumor here in Italy is that NGE (I presume EoE) may get a theatrical run in May. The only official info is that Netflix will stream the series in Spring, and this true for every nation currently.

I still say that anything's better than the ADV/Manga dubs. New English dubs, no English dubs, old French dubs, anything.

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019
If that was to happen it would have to be part of some deal completely removed from Netflix's exclusivity deal I imagine. It's only in the last two months that Netflix even started giving their Original Movies a theatrical run outside of a single location in LA & NYC - which they only did so the film could quality for the Oscars - and even now it's pretty minimal. The Coen Brothers Netflix Original, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, is playing on one theater in my city and it's arguably the smallest movie theater auditorium I've ever been in - when work doesn't pull me away I live most of the year in Washington DC, one of the most densely populated cities in the country that gets art releases pretty early so it's not like we shouldn't get it in bigger houses. - I don't even know if ROMA, their first real contender for Oscar success, is going to be released in 100 theaters worldwide this month. I'd be surprised if Netflix after negotiating their exclusive deal for NGE's streaming rights would be open to spending one penny on even a single DCP of End of Evangelion. But hey, stranger things have happened.
Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019
Man I really do not want the original cast. Good god why do they always have to be so persistent!
