Leaving us in suspense about Song-lyrics.

I take it back, Anno isn't a troll, everyone else at Khara is.

The secret is that if you sing the lyrics in the dark 3 times while looking into a candle-lit mirror, Yui appears behind you.

I know this. I've tried it.

All kidding aside, I wonder what it is they could have possible done to that sing that we haven't already picked up through various re-recordings, different vocal talents singing it (the VAs for Misato, Rei, and Asuka, all sang it in one album), or that music video Masayuki edited for it. I mean, the most obscure thing I know about the sing was that it had any male-choir sounds removed from it to make it sound "more maternal" with the female choirs, keeping in line with the thematics of the show itself. I wonder what else there is to reveal about it at this point, 20 whole years later.

It was actually written for a different show that rejected it?

^ Unlikely, since I believe that "Cruel Angel's Thesis" was the second attempt at writing an OP for Eva.

The secret will be drowned out by background noise when she reveals it!

Maybe it's something about the inspiration behind the song? I can't imagine it'll be a huge revelation, whatever it is.

Someday I hope that we'll be reunited if that is what's destined to be. Perhaps we'll discover that elusive bible. And then we will finally be free!

j/k

Well, we know Anno originally wanted some Borodin - as later used by RahXephon, and I think somewhere in Kare Kano.

I think we're still waiting to find out just what the hell the female chorus is singing.

Not telling us what the background chorus is saying is a chronic bad habit of Eva songs, come to think of it.

^ I thought someone had come to the conclusion that they might have been singing "love is sin" or something like that. (Though, now that I think of it, I don't remember where I read that piece of shaky trivia.)

The surprising fact is that she hasn't seen the show, which is not really surprising to me.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Wow, it's absolutely nothing. I'm more surprised that her ex-husband was dumb enough to waste so much money buying a cave in Turkey.

He then played every song from 1993. The crowd applauded as he curtsied bashfully.

This kind of blows my mind. How can you make close to a million dollars off of a song for a show, but never say to yourself, "Man, this show is really popular, and made me a lot of money, I wonder what the fuss is about?".

William Shatner has never watched most of Star Trek.

The information on how much money comes from karaoke vs. pachinko is fascinating. But this is the most insane part:

She currently only has 100,000 yen ($829) in the bank, however, because her ex-husband bought a cave in Cappadocia (a region in Turkey known for its cave dwellings) for about 300 million yen ($2.5 million).

And Tom Baker has never watched Doctor Who!

I suspect we'll eventually be treated to a follow-up surprise that Oikawa's ex-husband discovered some ancient scrolls hidden in the cave he bought and that their next purchase with the royalties will be a trip to the South Pole. They will, of course, be completely unaware of what an odd coincidence this is.

I wonder if that cave is the reason he's her ex-husband.

Actors/singers enjoy acting and singing, but rarely spend time watching what they've done. They just move on to the next project. It's obsessive fans who watch shit over and over again.
