I would like the Viz release of the manga.
First off, is it complete? If not up to where?
In how many parts is each book divided?
How much should I spend and how hard is it to find (complete)?
~ Excuse my englush

It is complete. Viz Media collected volumes 1 through 12 in 4 huge omnibuses, and then they separately printed the late two volumes as they were released.

You can start your Eva manga quest here.

Some of the individual volumes are very hard to find, so start with the 3 in 1 omnibus releases.

They are? I could buy any of the older volumes off ebay for £3-5.

Vol 9 specifically is in very short supply.

But the omnibus volumes are printed that bit bigger, and have colour plates as well - they're the better bet really. I just hope they do a matching version of the last two volumes (though note that the spines of the four omnibus volumes make a complete matching pattern at the top...).

Volume 9 has had a reprint since then. It's available for a reasonable price again on Amazon :)

^^ Nothing that can’t extend by typing the last two volumes to read “| END OF” at the top, making a whole set read “EVANGELION | END OF.” Even if they decide to just leave it blank, I’d totally buy the larger, colored editions despite already having the regular printed editions.

Oh, sure! And I hope that's what they'll do, sooner rather than later.

Now we can discuss what they should add to make the volume the same thickness as the others!

Monkey and I both figured it's a matter of time that 13 + 14 + bonus content will get its own VIZ omnibus volume one of these days. (Personally hoping for Carl Horn's thoughts on the last 2 volumes!) Good point that it could read "The End of" on it to flow with "Neon Genesis Evangelion".

Slightly off topic; I just got volumes 1-7 in a bundle and they don't have white spines and are slightly larger than the usual ones. Whats the deal with them?

There have been multiple editions; sounds as if you've got the earlier version, which came in two forms: flipped, and then later in similar covers unflipped and labelled something like "special edition". Then they were reprinted unflipped in the slightly smaller format, in 2004 as I recall, and the remaining volumes were issued in that new format. So your set of seven is all there are of the older format. I got a couple of the old ones before I understood the difference.

@FullMetalBiscut: Agreed. You have the earliest editions to come out, though I'm not sure if they're flipped or the "Special Edition" which were unflipped (unflipped manga was still a novelty back then). In fact, I have volumes 1-3 in the special edition, but it looked as if the spines were loosening, so I got the first omnibus to replace them. I'll admit, it looks good.

Ah, that explains why volume 4 is flipped but the rest aren't. Thanks for the info. A little annoying as I really only got them for display purposes with the rest of my white spine ones  Oh well, was only £15 and I guess it's another version of the manga to own.

I don’t care if Vol. 9 got a reprint. The 3-1 omnibus just looks better due to the larger images. And since it’s back in print, the rarity factor has been taken away from it anyway. I personally don’t see a point in buying it.
