Oh yeah, Eva fan I am.

So this arrived today:
Girlfriend of Steel 2 with postcard booklet, Battle Orchestra, and Neon Genesis Evangelion 2
Image

Evangelion Chronicles, all 30 of them with the binders.
Image

Now I'm wondering if I should put Chronicles in its binder or not hmm...

EDIT: Decided to put Chronicles in the proper book order. Took about two hours to unbind it and resort it.
I am probably going to skip the binder still, and go with some other way to bind the pages... I do not like how binders rip the pages around the holes over time.
In and of itself, self-evident.

i HAVE JUST READ Maki Ozora's Petit Eva "reboot" and......millions of light years away from the original. It's enjoyable, but it lacks Hamamoto's story, designs, gags and tributes to Eva Mythology (and that wonderful DS game  )

Yeah, I agree. Maki Oozora's Petit Eva manga is cute, but it's definitely not as good as Ryusuke Hamamoto's Petit Eva. The story in the Oozora continuity is less interesting (in my opinion), plus fewer of the characters show up, and there aren't as many great shout-outs and meta humor.

Asuka's jealous reactions when Mana or Kaworu hit on Shinji are priceless

Keeping it going full speed!

*drum roll*

So this arrived:

Re-Takes 0-4, and Re-Take After
(Re-Take 1.5 is still on its way even though most don't count it as part of the original set)

Image

And Secret of Evangelion - Asuka edition (pictured), as well as Secret of Evangelion - Rei edition (not pictured).

Comes with a respective Asuka / Rei hologram:

(Sorry for the smudges)

Not sure how to get physical copies, but most hentai archives have it.

Surugaya has a good selection of used, including H like Re-Take:

http://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=%E3%82%A8%E3%83%B4%E3%82%A1%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B2%E3%83%AA%E3%82%AA%E3%83%B3+RE-TAKE

You'll need to engage a deputy service to order for you unless you know someone in Japan who can do the same.

They're also on Rakuten in English as Surugaya-atoo but I've noticed that those prices are slightly higher than the direct Japanese website and Re-Take isn't listed.

Yen is very weak, so it's a good time to start buying.

Re-Take you can get via Yahoo auctions using the English auction "interface" buyee.jp.
You bid through buyee.jp, and they handle it all for you, and to save on shipping you can bundle the items.

Or mandarake which has Re-Take NEW in stock, English interface, and ships to the US:
(requires a CCard, CCard backed debit works despite them saying No)
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/search.do?searchStrategy=keyword&action=keyword&doujin=all&keyword=re-take

NEVER buy Japanese items from ebay, or else you'll pay large margins because they know you're a foreigner and got the cash.
Due to a weak Yen, and a lot of Japanese not buying on Japanese auctions in the slump,
things are selling cheap now. Take advantage of it. I got three new Blurays for the price of one.

Anyways:

Secret of Evangelion (Rei edition):
Image

Secret of Evangelion Rei 3D hologram:
Image

Eva Addition CD - which comes with http://wiki.evageeks.org/After_the_End:
Image

And finally the SH-06D and SH-06A NERV Eva phones:
Image

I actually have two SH-06Ds, one for toying around with, the other to keep pristine:

Japan just entered a recession. When I got there late October the exchange rate at Narita for travelers checks was at $1/105¥. When I changed my extra yen back at Haneda it had gone up t $1/113¥. XE.com now has it at $1/119¥. Keep in mind that you're unlikely to get XE's rates but it helps to get as close as possible.
I'd have at it too, but need to watch my discretionary spending for the time being. :misatogeh:

Ordered!

Thank you so much.

I got what appeared to be the original volumes which I recognized by their covers...
... but what is the difference between them, and this:

That is the "all ages" edition where they took out the graphic imagery.

Though some people prefer it aside from that, I've heard.
"Being human, having your health; that's what's important." (from: Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi )
"As long as we're all living, and as long as we're all having fun, that should do it, right?" (from: The Eccentric Family )

That is awesome. I stuck with the regular Carmine.

Well, Mandarake does not like my card. SOL in that department, it would seem.
I don't have a credit card - can't really see getting one just for this instance.

Try to find a pre-paid Mastercard ... card. It should go through.
