Definitely one of my favorite Asuka figures... I think mine is staying in the box for a bit too :)

On that note... I just purchased the 5-piece Exhibition figure set. Work was slow yesterday, so I found myself browsing and spent my christmas bonus in places I necessarily shouldn't have.

And now it's taking a bubble bath because it's covered in mold release or maybe it's own sweat, I don't know but it need a thorough scrubbing.

Of all the vintage Evangelion EVA units, the old Tsukuda Hobby vinyl kits/pre-painted figures were probably the nicest in terms of overall proportions, shape and size. I say this as someone who absolutely loathes vinyl kits too! Was there any particular reason why you opted for the Kaiyodo kit?

Well I opted for it mainly because it was available and, at only 1,200 yen, disgustingly cheap.

The post on the previous page with the Race Queen Asuka and Kotobukiya Shinji kit and this one are all part of the same order from Mandarake and if you order under 5,000 yen worth of merch they have a 500 yen handling fee. Ended up being 2 SAL boxes that arrived 10 days apart.

I really wish they would just go ahead and start recycling the 02 body and pump out 08, 00 and even 03.

This seems to comfirms Eva 13´s final pseudo DMS phase as 3+, we already know 1 and 2 from 2.0, wonder if theres a plain 3 that happenned before...

Medicom did make a Kaworu figure from 3.0 (RAH 483) but for some reason, no updated Shinji.

Kaworu was a 2.0 RAH. No boys yet for 3.0 RAHs. Just 3 versions of Asuka (patched plugsuit, track jacket, new plugsuit), 1 Mari and 1 Rei.

Do you think Medicom will bother to make 3.0 figures for the guys with the 2.0 figures getting a meh response from fans and collectors :/ be a shame to have Eva 13 be lonely without her pilots :)

I don't think it is likely we will see a new Shinji or Kaworu RAH. Usually the pilots are annpouced around the same time as the Neos of the EVAs (If Mari and Asuka for 3.0 are any indication). With Eva13 being announced last year I think if the boys were going to be redone we would have heard by now. Shame too. I am missing a Shinji and a Kaworu (Have Mari 2.0, Asuka 3.0 patched up, Rei 1.0 and Asuka in her school uniform 2.0).

Alter's Asuka figure is getting a re-release in April, preorder deadline is February 17th, past that date you're relying on stores picking up extra stock. I'd suggest Big in Japan over AmiAmi, they might be more helpful in case of a broken neck.
