Yeah Eva Evo unit 01's head looks a little weird but this guy looks alright to me.

I can't believe I'm going to do it, but I was only going to get Unit 13 and the Mark 9... Now with 08b coming with the AT Field Drones, might as well get it and Unit 2y.
WHERE IS MY UNIT 13 BANDAI

I just realized that there is only one drone in the picture. Why are they being so cheap. It's not enough that people have to buy 08 in order to get it...but to include only one. I guess you guys need to buy four of 08s.

@ThruthFulLie: buy 4 Eva 08?
Please! Just Photoshop them in :tongue:

I "wunder"... Should I buy Eva 08b at HLJ and wait for the next Eva to be released to ship them together or should I buy and ship separately at AmiAmi...?
AmiAmi does offer them cheaper, but the private warehouse service of HLJ saves some cash in combined shipping...

It's almost the same, though from experience you save some yens going for Ami Ami, so it's really a matter of choice.

And why did the SoC SPEC EVA units not enter the comparison by now? Reception among reviews seems to be unusually positive.

Probably because they stopped making them after Awakened 01. Nothing to compare to the newer Revoltech and RD figures. The SPEC EVA figures were the best. Have 6 of them and they blow RD and Revoltech away.

Waitaminit!
Eva 08'b and Mark 09 are at 3480 3430 yen at AmiAmi and at 3414 both at HLJ!!! :cringe:

Hmmm let's use the scientific method...
SPOILER: Show
Buying (for example) Mark 09+Eva 08'b and

a) ship them via EMS separately from AmiAmi
b) ship them together with HLJ's private warehouse service

AA price: 3430+3480= 6910 yen
HLJ price: 3414+3414= 6828 yen

Using shipping figures of:
AA: 2040(2)=4080 [based intermediate point between the shipping of EvaEvo 05 (heavy) and Mark 06 (lighter]
HLJ: 1880 [that's what I paid for Eva 08'a and 02'b past week]

AA=6910+4080=10990 yen
HLJ=6828+1880=8708 yen

Converted into US dollars (by today's exchange rate, rounded up)
AA=109 US (that is 54.5 per Eva Unit)
HLJ=86 US (that is 43 per Eva Unit)

In the end, we talk about a difference of about 23 bucks...

Are they wort it when compared to the idea of having them a week after release vs having one 40 days later...?
What do you think?

The difference it's practically half another Revo, so, If i were to buy Mark 09, I would use HLJ...

But!
SPOILER: Show

If I were to use the Small Air Lift (SAL) service of AmiAmi
Then it would be 1090 yen shipping (figure given by the shipping price of Eva 02'b from the first time I bought it)

Then, 6910+2180=9090 yen
9090 yen=90 US= 45 US per Eva Unit

Then we talk about a difference of only 4 US... And SAL doesn't take that long... And we still get the AmiAmi points (not that they'll do something until the hundredth purchase, but anyways, I'll save until I buy me a Hot Toys)

I know, right?

And without a doubt I would've just bought/wanted them anyway seeing them in person later.
Might as well get on this gravy train proper!

That's so going to happen, even if that weird hybrid of an Eva doesn't end up in the next film they'll still make a figure of it... and I will buy it, because I'm a jump.

Actually, you just have to paint the left side of 08(Beta) red and create the new head as well as the Magorox. This should be especially easy with the new Bandai model kits, because the head of 08 is shown to be composed of one piece for each side.

Remember the initial design for EVA-08? I have yet to see it in figure form. [/quote]

Wait, what? You mean the kit is going to use two piece assembly for the entire head? with a big fucking seem down the middle? What is this, 80's? or some kind Happy Heal toy assembly? That can't possibly be right.

I agree. Bandai may not put effort into the proportions but they will milk the color seperating gimmick to the maximum. The breakdown will be far more complex. Also you can't actually have 08 with only 2 halves. The center horn has to be seperated out because it can't be molded otherwise. They will definitely seperate the purple faceplate and have both side horns molded in multiple pieces.

Anyone knows something about this Eva-13?
Image

I found it HERE and besides knowing the price and manufacturer (SEGA) I can't find it anywhere else...

A seam is actually there, albeit only for the center horn. However, i fully acknowledge the implication that the head of a modern-day injection plastic mecha* kit is only composed of two parts as my personal mistake. I meant to describe my assumption that both head pieces appear to be composed of even more parts who then form the two sides of the head. But i chose to leave the possibly significant part out, wrongly assuming the given information was enough to get the message across. [s]I still may be wrong, though.[/s] Turns out i actually am.

That is the SEGA PM (assuming this is short for "Prime/Premium Model") EVA-13, available for pre-order here.

Fixed pose, under 2k yen. I wouldn't expect much quality of it.
