I don't think I'd change a thing although I liked the ending a lot more before I read the thing about Earth being seeded by aliens. It had a lot more meaning in my opinion when I could connect it to religious themes.

Yeah one of the playstation games stated that god was really some sort of alien race so advanced that they appear godlike to lesser beings. They seeded the galaxy. At least that's what I remember. I can't remember where I read it however. One of the millions of eva faqs sites.

I like to just pretend that the game was never made and they never mentioned that.

Yeah, I personally hate that conclusion. It really cheapens the entire series and I doubt that it's really the definative answer. Game designers tend to mess those sorts of things up.

yeah it really takes away from the mythical aspect of the series and makes it a lot more sci-fi

The entire series has judeo-christian themes and then this ps2 game comes out and says that it's really all about aliens. Very disapointing if that's really what gainax and anno were going for. I very much doubt it though.

Oh well...to get back on topic. Like I said before...I wouldn't change a thing. It had a wonderfully open ended ending.
