well, the theories explaining how eva 02 could be restores and about how the cores work, yes, it about her.

Also i think it's left open if Eva-02 has it´s cored destroyed, together with Asuka, or not. And even, if it can be restored after the third impact. Only G... i mean, only Anno knows =X

You make it sound as if returning is an inevitability for all people.

That's excactly what I meant to say. If looked at it this way, Then all people shall return.

What this has to do with the conversation:

EVA-02's soul is that of Asuka's mother.
Asuka dies but returns. Technically spoken, 02 dies and thus shall return, in the form of Asuka's mother, meaning that the survival of the unit is possible. Also, Asuka showed us that her memories were restored too. Meaning that her mother would have those memories of being Unit-02 and thus it would survive.

Arms not made out of Spam! They do not split evenly down the middle with a uniform red filling. They have little white bones and things in them.
