Personally, I think a CG film would have been a better alternative medium for Evangelion. It would be more believable than live action and would probably stay more true to the anime. Oh well. As far as I’m concerned they could hire Tom Cruise to be Shinji and Lindsey Lohan to be Asuka. Maybe then they could pull off a comedic parody.

Personally, a fully digitally animated film of ELAM would broadly look similar to RoE. The new series also incorporate new digital techniques to enhance realistic performance, for example, more realistic weather movements and it should be partly CGI, not fully.Excepting that real actors would be used.

Seeing that RoE actually used significant amounts of CGI, I meant that, it would look like ELAM from a perspective point of view. What I meant was, (jeez, you guys make every discussion so complicated) AH, FORGET ABOUT IT. Once I post something you guys would probably make me embarrassed and look like an idiot.

Ive been looking at the live action Eva's designs and they seem pretty good thus far....I don't like how one concept is Eva 01 as more of a "living thing". I mean I understand she is but your not meant to know that right off the bat I don't think while others stay true to the design.

A few years ago, a really great TV series with a cult following in the US was adapted into a really great movie. It got an 81% on the Tomatometer and critics predicted that it would open at #1 at the box office.
The name of the movie was Serenity. It flopped like a fish.
I think that if they really wanted to do any justice to the franchise, they'd do it as a live-action TV series of the "supernatural WB drama" genre, kind of like Buffy, Roswell, Smallville, or Birds of Prey... but with a bigger budget, obviously, and younger actors.
EDIT: Emma Watson, in a bathtub, saying "I was so selfish. All I could think about was proving myself... making everyone see that I was talented". This just SCREAMS Asuka. I am now quite okay with the concept of making the pilots a few years older if it means that Emma gets to play Asuka.

If I'm pissing you off, just remember: it was Magami No ER who told me about this place, so blame him/her.

I agree. I think a CG movie would be better because the characters could look the way they do in the anime, they would easily be able to make a trilogy (unless the actors for the pilots are adults, they'd look way too different from one movie to another) and the exagerated personalities of the characters would be much more convincing. In the end, I think an animated movie suits an animated series better (can you possibly imagine a live-action End of Evangelion? Well, I can't).
