People make Bioshock out to be scary? Pfft, System Shock 2 is much scarier.

Go Play Amnesia: The Dark Decent, then we'll talk.
I was playing bioshock last week and I heard a splicer so I crouched in a córner. Before it ran into the room it yelled "There's seman EVERYWHERE"

I couldnt stop laughing.

Welcome aboard! Enjoy yourself some damn-fine game design, and the endless wait for Episode 3. Then go and buy Portal 2.

On-topic:
Crysis - I can play it maxed out, now, and have to say it looks very pretty. Bet I'm the first to point THAT out.

Crysis 2, or; how another previously excellent shooter learned to be a good boy and start sucking Call of Duty's financially gargantuan cock like everyone else.

Metro 2033 - So far I'm loving this game, and it's unique setting and feel. The graphics are great, the gameplay relatively unique and the sense of atmosphere engaging. I find it strange how the only bad voice actor is that of the main character's, though.

Mass Effect - Eugh, this thing needed at least another 3 months to polish it into an acceptable game. As it stands it shows great potential but god-awful game design for the combat. I think the NES has better AI than the friendly AI in this thing.

Shogun 2 - Still fun, and I don't suck quite so bad as I used to.

Morrowind - Made me dislike Oblivion, but only because it's far better.

Just wait until you get to the library level. I raged
Oh and be careful not to pull a derp like I did and shoot your military grade ammo by accident
I had almost 300 and wasted it in half a level. Didn't notice it was gone until I had 17 left. -_-
I loved how they made the inventory system just what was on their chest. Unique and very simple.
Also I remember correctly they only had once voice actor for the kids.

Waiting patiently for Last Light.

Playing through more Fallout: New Vegas. Enjoying it greatly.

Crysis 1 - Visual porn
Crysis 2 - Slightly less spectacular visual porn with CoD Multiplayer.

The second game didn't suffer from CoDization, it suffered from being dumbed down for the console. The game still handled urban fighting very well, the visuals and feel of the city were still top notch. The best part of Crysis 2 is that CoD is now ripping it off, the opening teaser MW3 scene is a play by play recreation of the opening from Crysis 2.

The friendly AI wasn't any better in ME2. All Bioware games tend to have horrible friendly AI (Jolee heal spam in KOTOR is probably the only Bioware AI I've liked).

I was very sad when Oblivion took away my Mark, Recall, Slow Fall, Levitate and all the wonderful things I had in previous Elder Scrolls games. Offensive Levitation was awesome. I hope Skyrim gives us offensive Mark and Recall.

What I really liked is that Morrowind felt alien and fantastical with the removal of dogs and horses and the other normal animals that were present in previous TES games and in Oblivion.

So... Bethesda is suing Mojang (Minecraft people) over the use of the word "Scrolls."

Looks like I'll be waiting until RAGE and Skyrim are being re-sold on Amazon for 14 dollars.

Playing Age of Empires II The Conquerors.
Classic. Just had a massive kill each other tournament with former school friends (I say former because I will be going to university).

Japanese are OP (therefore, I like it) especially the fast trebuchet perk, and the fact that samurai's quick strike and rather heavy blow just destroys any close combat things (I mean, one on one, it can kill a Teutonic Knight even though the Teutonic Knight is on paper, one of the strongest close combat infantry). Actually, because they are quite quick also, they can close the range and kill things. Quickly.

I walk into Gamestop and see a kid with his mom looking to buy an Xbox 360. This was obviously his first console and they where decking it out for online (Wireless router, XBL Cards, ect.) The kid couldn't have been over 12 and he was getting all this stuff no questions asked. He walks back from the game section to the counter and says "Mom can I buy Gears of War 2?"
The mother being oblivious says "Sure, but is it a violent video game?"
The kid smiles and say "Nope"
I couldn't take it anymore. I leaned over and said "Ma'am, it's an extremely violent video game where you do nothing but shoot people with machine guns and saw them in half with chainsaw bayonets. I would recommend this," I reach over and pull Lego Batman off the shelf, "It would be better suited for someone your sons age."
The kid just gives me the death stair
After I buy what I was looking for the kids mom is now talking about more age appropriate games for her son (who is still pissed). As I pass him to leave the store I say "Have a nice day," with a huge grin on my face.

Good work, spud. I feel a little bad for the kid, but ultimately it's probably for the best.

I would've said that GoW2 was too violent, then direct her to the most violent game I could find, becasuse I'm a dick.

I got Ultimate Mortal Kombat and Devil Survivor for the DS over the weekend. I haven't had the chance to play Devil Survivor yet but UMK is fun though. It's pretty much a handle version of the arcade movie of UMK3, nothing more that you can ask for.

I would have said that GoW2 was an extremely violent game but you should still let your kid play it and stop trying to shelter him from a world he's eventually going to have to be exposed to.

I started playing through another blast from the past the other day, Crusader - No Remorse & Crusader -No Regret. I'm actually worse at them than I was as a kid, and I would like to say that spider mines are all kinds of awesome. I'm also thinking about replaying some good old Descent 1 & 2and maybe throwing in my old Monolith Combo Pack of Shogo: Mobile Armor Division and Septerra Core.

It was more about him being too immature for the game itself then what he should and shouldn't be exposed too.
If you can't stay honest with your parents then you shouldn't be playing games like that. Not to mention he was getting about 550 dollars worth of equipment no questions asked, just "I want this, this, and this." (the brat had a freakin' Iphone)
Also if you have to ask then you are too young.

One less annoying kid on XBL

Also started to play Doom 3. I'm playing more because I missed then nostalgia. Haven't gotten very far yet but the audio recordings are amazing. They actually have emotion :toothy:

I've been meaning to get that game... more than half a decade ago. Woops.

I was referring to the violence prevalent in almost every form of media, not the actual story of the game.
