Agreed.

Certain parts from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring would be great for some Eva action, me thinks.

Aslo, the Kaji/Misato sex scene should have been far longer, far more explicit, and should have used the overture from Rossini's William Tell, for the lulz.

Or something by Schoenberg for the dissonant appeal.

Threnody To The Victims Of Hiroshima. No composition on this Earth has the ability to represent sheer, unadulterated horror as this one. From the beginning (which almost sounds like screaming) to the siren sounds and the harrowing end, this piece always terrifies.

You know what? Let's just say anything composed by Krzysztof Penderecki is Evangelion-worthy.

During the synchronized fight in episode 9, I would have loved to have heard this part of the first movement to Rimsky-Korsakov's Sheherazade (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=kT3ILorqLL4#t=434s), up until the 8:30 minute mark. Obviously the fight would have had to have played out differently for the music and action onscreen to really match up, but I think it could have worked.

Verklarte Nacht/Transfigured Night by Arnold Schoenberg (not atonal) would also be heavy and rich...also would work in darker than black but that is besides the point

Shostakovich's Leningrad, which has an undertone of steady disaster running parallel its ostensibly bombastic, straightforward exterior.

We get a similar sort of thing with Eva itself, really, and especially Asuka.
