Would you name your child(ren) after a EVA character?

This is the place to start: Feel free to introduce yourself, have general conversations and casual discussions about all things Evangelion, including chit-chatty topics like "Sachiel is adorable" or "Which Eva kicks the most ass?"

This.

Joking aside, I wouldn't mind naming a son Adam. I probably wouldn't use any other name, though. Maybe Langley as a middle name, but definitely nothing else.

It's a beautiful name for a boy or a girl. Especially a girl... or a boy!

I hate kids, but I sorta want to adopt some just to be able to name them. I really like naming things...

Buy a boat. You can name those whatever you want and it's a lot cheaper (but still expensive).

Asuka as a Japanese name and something else as an English name. It means something lovely in Japanese; the fragrance of tomorrow. Very poetic

I think Rei wouldn't be that bad a name. Middle or first. I think it's unique with out being the name of a freakin'' fruit. (I'm referring to Apple of course)

I´d rather name my kid Metallica or Tsundere than a character from EVA.

I don´t want her/him to have any mental illnesses in the future.

I will make sure my child grows up to be awesome by naming them Ryoji Kaji.

dunno "Rokubungi Radjenovic" has a nice ring to it

you could get away with Rei as a middle name In work I once had to deal with someone who's middle name was Rambo (and he was only 11)

No, perhaps shin as a nickname but that is as far as I would ever go.

I don't know if I could give a Japanese name to my children, a judge changed the name of a child (called "Friday"...) in my country some time ago, maybe an other judge could dislike Japanese names... that said, Maya is fair game like it's been said, it exists in many different culture (Hindu, Persian and it's also associated with the Greek Maia) and it's used in various countries; probably Rei is a good choice since it's extremely simple to spell and it doesn't really sound like Japanese, though on the bad side "Rei" is the plural of "reo" which is "offender" in Italian.
So let’s make a wish.

If I ever have any children I'd probably just do what I do for the names of my characters and flip through the baby name book I have lying around till I get a name that fits, with the exception that I'd almost certainly name my first daughter after my grandmother. I really don't have any qualms about having a kid with a partially Japanese name given the multinational origin of my own name, so who knows? Maybe, if my theoretical wife likes the name too.

No. Never.

Langley as a middle name is already pushing it.

Langley as a middle name is definitely a good idea.

If I ever have a child with someone of Japanese descent, sure. Otherwise, I don't think so.

No. Even if my spouse was Japanese it would still be a ridiciously small chance. My full name is weird enough. I have a Hebrew first name, German middle name, and a Mexican last name. I don't need my kid to have an even weirder combination.

A son named Shinji...

Not a chance in hell, heaven, or any other plane of existence.

If my spouse was Japanese or something, i might even feel tempted, but i highly doubt i would it.

Shinji if it's a boy, Rei if it's a girl :emogendo:

if I were to have child(ren) I would give them really weird and unusual names, but not from Eva.

Although Langley would be a cool middle name.
