i don't consider it a matter of race. my point is i don't think actions motivated by dedication to a single goal determines whether someone has free will or not. or at least it doesn't prove that they have no free will

Maybe they do have a sort of Free Will but Kaworu being the Angel of "Free Will" possibly only cause of its Lilim body, nothing more is the only one with it but we do not know. I only believe they don't cause of how they react from the second they awaken.

I think that when you consider what happens in the series, and look at the 24 drafts as a supplement, the picture is clear: Angels will ultimately succumb to the urges to return. From 24 DC:

Maybe, maybe they do have "free will" but are still forced to hunt for mother.

It's already been mentioned again and again, but not all the Angels are after Adam and Kaworu being the Angel of Free Will (Tabris) is extracanonical, it's never mentioned within the show itself.

We believe that Adam landed on Earth very easily and without a large impact. Lilith came to Earth with great force and smacked into the Earth.

interesting point, but your taking the term impact too litterally, lilith exploded, she didn't hit the earth. it was an explosion of energy. when Rei fused with lilith, her second energy blast was corrosive to the ego barriers of all mankind. but would a fusion of an angel with adam instead of lilith broken not just spiritual ego barriers, but molecular bonds themselves causing even the planet to return to nothing?
