May seem like a dumb idea, but its pushing me to say something.
I know there was an off topic discussion about music, but i wanted a topic to discuss something related to EVA.

What is your kind of music? what do you listen to, and how does it relate to EVA?

Is it the lyrics, or just the feel of the song? does it depict a certan scene from eva or is it describing the whole thing, or the feel of the series? Are there any music videos you would like to share? When you listen to it does it remind you of a character?

Ive seen artists who have never seen or heard of EVA and have music that can perfectly describe it. So eva's feel and ideals are in a way universal.

Please listen honestly to others music posts and think about them.

My favorite genres i believe fit into EVA quite appropriately.
Classical, Industrial, Electronic Rock, Drum n Bass ect.

Nine inch nails - Into the void, kinda gives a general feel that relates to multiple characters and expresses a depressive feel that surrounds eva.

Static X - The only, describes the characters confusion and ambiguity in how they feel and in a way represents the misunderstanding.

Pendulum - Showdown, The name may be a little confusing but it describes the "long time coming" up to the end, It well fits Shinji and Asuka. How the characters have developed and how they must face each other at the end. "And i thought youd understand". The opening of Serial experiments Lain (yet another sorta philosophic, often-percieved-as-confusing anime which goes great leghts to torture its cute, introverted protagonist), "Duvet" by "Boa", sorta makes me think of Shinji in the latter episodes, adressed at Asuka, Kaworu or just the general situation.
I guess it would also work for Asuka... or anyone/anything else from episode 20 onwards... Seriously, someone should make an AMV.

I remember reading somewhere that although Megadeth's "Sudden Death" was written for the final Guitar hero game, I read that the song itself is written about Evangelion almost directly. The album cover for the song features their mascot descending onto Earth with angel wings and a digital timer around his neck. and the lyrics can sometimes be a direct reference to certain parts in the anime. The song is mainly focused around an Eva's battle against an angel.
