After buying Platinum, are you keeping your older DVDs?
i'm unsure whether to keep or sell my old box set of Eva DVDs now that i'm buying the platinums. i'd like to keep the last few volumes, at least, for the non-director's cuts, and i'm not sure i'd get much on ebay anyway, but...
who is doing what?

I will keep mine, like you said once all of the platinums are out the perfect collection won't be worth much. Plus I will just turn around the perfect collection box so I can have those Eva eyes stare at me. It's freaky yet comforting.

I own the boxed set of the first released Eva DVDs.
Will I part with them for the new platinums? Probably not.
To be honest, I'm not all impressed with the audio in the platinum editions. During episode 2, I noticed that Eva 01 didn't make as much noise as it did in the original, there seemed to be sounds missing.
Certain audio was revamped, but other pieces were left out, or unpolished.
I really only want the platinums for their cast audio commentary.
I love audio commentary. It makes me smile in ways the original episodes could never match ^^;;

In regard to what Evamonkey said,
Yes, I am a dub fan, but that's not to say I don't love the Japanese with subtitles more than the other.
I love them both, probably because Eva is one of the few english dubs I really enjoyed.
ahhh...Amanda Wynn Lee, Tiffany Grant and Allison Keys...you light up my life.
I'm still keeping my oldie but goodie DVDs tho

I'm not entirely certain. Frame jitter is common in older anime. If you really pay attention, you can catch it in other stuff too. I believe they may have reshot the animation for the DVD release in Japan. The TV masters had a much greater degree of jitter than the DVD, however the DVD had some as well. If I understand correctly.

Yay, another dub fan! I really do watch almost all my anime dubbed. o_o Except for Last Exile... that needs to be kept subbed.
Also, I do have a relevent question: how do frame jitters occur?

Ugh... now that I think about it, that was a shit trade. Oh well... I can still borrow them from her if I want.
U sold ur peferct collection for $20 , are u mad .
It is at least worth $70
I have too much anime, yet it's not enough. Anime Addict, if it were a drug; I'd be dead.

Heh... maybe. I offered about $70 bucks for it in the beginning, but no one wanted it. So I made the price impossible to pass up, and there you go. Hey, at least I got something for it.
