Hi.

I used to be active on this forum back in 2014-2017. I lost interest in the forum and Evangelion around that time and 3.0+1.0 didn't really do much to revitalize my interest in the franchise or this forum, but I'm coming back now for a trip down memory lane. After a cursory glance, I can see that a lot has changed since I left. Some regular posters have disappeared and the forum itself seems to have gone through significant changes.

I like to think that I'm a different person from when I left the forum. Maybe I haven't changed much at all. Regardless, this was a non-insignificant part of my life during those years. I thought I'd drop by to check things out and say hello. So, what the **** has happened?

Yo, I'm just a guy who likes Evangelion (I presume y'all do too, considering the forum lol) and tokusatsu (aka Godzilla and stuff like that).

Where did the last six or so months go to? Life has been keeping me busy, mostly boring mundane tasks, slowly clearing the way so that I can obey my late wife's injunction to go on and have a riotous old age when I no longer had to look after her. And while the summer was disappointing weather-wise, it was a time when I got even further down the "AI art" rabbit-hole, suddenly gathering a following for my
𝕏 (formerly, twitter) account as a result; so I've only been popping in here quietly to see that everything was running smoothly, and doing janitorial work, mostly on accounts that didn't respond to their activation e-mails.

Still, there are some important anniversaries coming up - I plan a "20 years later" rewatch of the series starting in a few weeks (which I hope will give me something to say over and above what I have already done here, and previously at ANF); and then next summer is the forum's 20th anniversary, so I expect to be a bit more active.

I've been in and out sporadically under various names since ANF (and used to be on the Evageeks IRC occasionally - which seems like it's gone now). I'm hoping to be here more permanently this time - my most recent NGE rewatch has given me a bunch of fanfic and theory ideas.

I made an EvaGeeks account about two years ago but never really introduced myself or stuck around much after that, so I figured now is as good of a time as any. I'm no old fan, but I got into Evangelion over the course of online schooling, and it struck me as one of the most creative pieces of media I had ever seen, and I was never big into anime before then. Recently, I returned to the series as I am going through a major turning point in my life, for nostalgia's sake. With that said, I hope to be more active around here. I enjoy discussing lore, geography, and art direction/design, as that is what drew me into the series initially.
