KensukexRitsuko is the one true pairing. :shifty:
No, in all seriousness Misato and Kaji have that honor.
In a non-romantic light, Shinji and Rei are cute as semi-siblings in my eyes.
Also known as Cowboy Dev.

ShinjixHoraki post-Bardiel is woefully underappreciated.

ShinjiXHikari isn't a crack pairing.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Isn't it? They have pretty much zero chemistry as utilized by the show.

Furthermore, I could totally get behind some MisatoxMaya.
Set phasers to thrill.

I concur with you there...good thinking with that one.

What about Asuka and Hikari after the 2nd child runs away when she's unable to pilot her Eva?

I suppose Hikari's internal monologue would've gone something like "She skipped school. She won't go home. All she does is play those video games and...acts sexy and seductive around me all the time..."

Or perhaps when Asuka is crying about losing in her Eva, Hikari comforts her with her body.

"I'm saying that I love you."

NOT FROM EVANGELION:
"You are excrement. You can change yourself into gold."

Asuka x Hikari is not a crack pairing. You're doing it wrong.

Kaji x Watermelon

Yuri is always a crack pairing unless there's more than two ladies involved. :naughty:

That paints a pretty terrible picture of Hikari, though, so I can see why people wouldn't be keen on it.
For my post-3I fic, go here.
The law doesn't protect people. People protect the law. -- Akane Tsunemori, Psycho-Pass
People's deaths are to be mourned. The ability to save people should be celebrated. Life itself should be exalted. -- Volken Macmani, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra
I hate myself. But maybe I can learn to love myself. Maybe it's okay for me to be here! That's right! I'm me, nothing more, nothing less! I'm me. I want to be me! I want to be here! And it's okay for me to be here! -- Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yes, I know. You thought it would be something about Asuka. You're such idiots.

Shinji and Child Shinji in the Sea of Dirac in ep. 16

Is that "crack pairing" enough for this post?

This is one of my favourite crack pairings. It's a shame it's only represented via Meguro.

Nah, just say it's a manga fic. Shared grief leads to closeness... pretty much writes itself. And then Hikari buggers him with the strap on and makes him call her Toji.

My favourite crack pairing is Shinji and Rei.

Yes, I know it's utterly implausible, he's only fourteen while she's four billion years old, etc. But come on, watch the end of Episode 6 again and tell me you don't see something special going on there. :P
Be warned, I may occasionally ask stupid questions.

Holy flamethrowing Jesuses, it's like nobody pays attention to the thread title.

Shinji x Rei is not a crack pairing. You cannot have a crack pairing if it's been hinted at or teased at any point in the show. ShinjixRei has been teased in all three canon continuities (NGE/Manga/NTE).

A crack pairing would be more along the lines of:

Kaji x That Jet Alone Guy

or

Gendo x Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Bardiel x Iruel. Possibly the most abstract sex in the known universe.
