The most Epic Evangelion moment

Which moment in Eva made you feel that this show truly was a work an art, gave you a 'wow!' feeling. Wow as in shocked or positive, not 'wow!' as in repulsed or frightened.

For me, it was when Shougouki burst out of Lilith-Rei's eye in EoE and let out her famous roar, and all consequent scenes of Instrumentality being inturrupted.

The whole battle between Eva02 and the Eva series! Just awesome!

Tough to say... But the entire scene in episode 25 (in Final Genesis, not EoE) where Shinji is sitting on the chair in the middle of what appears to be an auditorium and characters appear randomly saying things to him. Just thinking about that scene makes me giddy...

...Alas, I haven't seen any Evangelion episodes since February.

Not sure about most epic but first thing that came in my mind is a very cool moment when EVA-01 goes berserk and rips that black & white circle-shaped angel(can't remember the name) from inside.

EDIT: It was also cool when Dummy plug-controlled Eva-01 beats the hell out of Angel that invaded Touji's Eva.

Epic? Every single battle in the damn series. Masterpieces of combat.

EVA-01 vs. JA!!! Who shall come out triumphant?

The entire "Ode to Joy" sequence in #24 is the first thing that comes to mind when you say "epic". But the definition I take it you're referring to -- "very imposing or impressive; surpassing the ordinary (especially in size or scale)" -- is awfully vague, and could be referred to an awful lot of things in NGE (like various people's statures ;) ).

It has to be when Eva-00 charges at Zeruel with the N^2 Bomb and the AT Field spreads across the Geofront. That scene is wonderfully epic.

[edit]

The End of Evangelion is all pretty epic. Whenever I watch, it always installs this "I can't believe it was all leading up to this" feeling in me. It just seems so surreal and upsetting an ending, even for Evangelion.

The most epic parts would have to be the 3rd angel battle, the 14th angel battle and the fight between the Eva series vs Asuka

Yui and Shinji's goodbye scene made it clear that he'd leanred something from all of this. Even if " One more final, I need you " Said he's still got problems of the major kind

Taking down Ramiel. Especially Rei doing her self-sacrifical bit.

That's a big one for me, although "epic" feels like far too 'cultured' a word to meaningfully describe that fight. Or most of the fights in NGE, for that matter.

Every battle in Evangelion were  good, but I was all sweat when I saw Unit-01 burst out of Leliel's "body" and when the same EVA consumed one of the Angels (can't recall which one). Mwhahahahaaa!   I remember when I watched the last mentioned scene, I hoped that there'll be at least one great slaughter in the movie with Unit-01... and it actually happened, though with Unit-02...
 !!!HELL IS FUN!!!

Easily when Unit 01/Shinji is holding Kaworu, and waits about a minute before popping his head off. The near-silence and stillness builds up tension like none of the flashy action proceeding it could.

Well... the whole Third Impact was just... wow
Every time I see it, I get a goose skin. ^^
The battle against the Eva series was also awesome.
Somehow I must laugh every time Asuka (tries) to speak German. Especially when Shinji and Asuka are in EVA-02 :D
Ok, I think if I ask a Japanese something with my little Japanese knowledge he would probably answer "No English" or something like that xD
