People have been sharing the news on social medias after seeing it in theathres during preview for Mirai no Mirai (new Hosoda Mamoru movie).

Footage supposedly reveals a new unit, pink and orange which Mari pilots. Not much else is know yet.

End of Evangelion was made in a year and is the best film I've seen in my life.
I don't know if I'm explaining myself.
I think Anno should just speak his mind and not overthink it.

Evangelion 3.0 was the only Evangelion film ever so far that might have taken more than 2 years to make.

^Movies take time. Accept it. Most of the work is done before announcements are even made. Each one of these films have taken much longer than 2 years to make. End of Evangelion probably moved quicker simply because the budget wasn't there to pay people for a long enough time.

Either way, wonder if they're aiming for a Summer release because it worked so well for Shin Godzilla. I figure they'd want to avoid the period around 2020 Summer Olympics (July 24 to August 9) plus that's the year Hayao Miyazaki is aiming to release his current in-production feature.

Gonna be quite a year!

Isn't true actually. Unless I misunderstood you.
But 3.0 is the only Eva film that might have taken over 2 years to make (and even in that case the storyboard book seems to suggest it was about 2 years as well).

I am well aware movies take time to make, and I have nothing aginst the movie coming out late. I'd just rather have it earlier, and am "worried" since it's such an anomaly timeframe-wise.
I just hope khara doesn't think we have unrealistic expectations due to the long wait and aren't overworking it. I just want it to be a good film, the same I wanted in 2013.

Literally woke up to this news, not sure if it is legit, not saying the people that have seen Mirai no Mirai are spouting bogus news, but i'd feel a lot more comfortable if there were multiple official outlets that were reporting on it

I'm waiting for official sources on this just to be sure, but in anycase having a release date is better than not having it.

I must say 2020 would be a lot further away than I would expect, that's 4 years from 2016 and some of the work was done prior to that. It's gonna be special.


EDIT: It also looks like I may get my degree before the movie is out.
