After almost six months of writing, I'm finally done with my story and just need to decompress. I see Gob Hoblin's A Bad Idea getting mentioned a lot, so I'll give that a read. But does anybody have any humorous and/or warm and fuzzy feeling fics to recommend? Preferably ones that are relatively brief?

To Mike: I hope you enjoy A Very Bad Idea. Personally, I like you were in darkness too. It's a series of relatively unrelated vignettes as written by the author as part of a writing challenge.

I find it interesting, in that the pairing is Asuka and Rei. It can be considered anything from the range of yuri to just plain friendship, and it's a pairing that simply isn't done very much. I enjoyed it, and I thought some of the chapters were just plain sweet.

It may or may not be your cup of tea, but I suggest it.

Wow, thanks for all the recommendations, guys, this'll give me plenty of happy and cheery stuff to read and enjoy before having to delve back into the nitty and gritty tone for my next story.

And Gob, I just finished A Bad Idea. I've got to say that was one of the best laughs I've had in a while.

I have very mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it IS indeed a good start overall...but on the other, I've never seen someone else continue another's story and it work out (there have been a couple over the years). And the original in question, while we've got it out in the open, is good but isn't the be-all end-all of WAFFy Evafics (just OOC enough and it all moves a little too fast for me to give it top-tier marks...I say that now, but I'll bet anything that I'll be re-reading it sometime soon).

Still, given how quiet things have been in the Eva section lately (especially with the most recent one I had been keeping an eye on finally being finished), anything is better than nothing. And, as I said previously, it's good. So...yeah, there's that.

Thanks for your continued interest in the story! I've made more progress on Chapter 3, but I'll be busy for the next few weeks so that might slow things down a bit. The good news is that I will have some spare time after that, so at that point I'll make a big push to write as much as possible. Also, another artist is going to be doing an illustration for the story, so that's something to look forward to as well. Yay!

I'm a guy who gets depressed easily. . . (hence why i'm really angry at what Anno did to Shinji in 3.0).

I tend to gravitate towards reading and writing upbeat optimistic things. . .because I like writing and reading what makes me and others happy.

When I choose to play against type however and write something other than that, darker things, depressing things I tend to lose my will to write quickly. . .and Its kind've selfish of me to say this, but I need someone in the background encouraging me when I'm writing things out of my comfort zone.

I've got the first few chapters of my fic in outline. . . I'm going to try and finish those, and see where it goes from there.

My fic is going to try and fix a few of the issues I personally had with Reticence. . .I liked it but I felt it was overall too perfect for my tastes. . .I'm trying to get something a bit more real. Not to mention I like Rei-Q as her own character and don't want her and Rei to be assimilated together.
