Lots of Anime/Manga has references to Japan's old battleships. Even NGE.

Asuka Langley Soryu = USS Langley and IJN Soryu

All of that sort of stuff.

So how about an anime that brings said battleships to life?

For me, this just about floats my boat (no pun intended). An anime about battleships? I LOVE battleships... and tanks... and planes... but battleships for now!

Love the show. Once you get over the CG it's really great. It has the perfect mix of mystery, action and comedy.

I'm really interested in the manga now and will read it after the anime has ended.

It's similar in both fighting WWII alien hardware. Arpeggio focus is on the story unlike the episodic nature of SW.

Pretty much yeah. Arpeggio predates Kantai Collection and was relatively unknown but sells like hotcakes now thanks to cross-promotion.

It worked for Kirishima, so why not?

Also, am I the only one getting a lot of crossed wires, what with Maya and Kirishima and such? If we had Soryu or Ayanami in the mix I'd be sunk for sure.
