Well Wing and G Gundam are the two series I would recommend outside Universal Century for easy viewing without loads of other material involved. Hope you enjoy G Gundam.

SD Gundam World Sangoku Sōketsuden, a project that is a part of Gundam's 40th Anniversary celebration, will launch internationally with anime, manga series, and model kits. The story is loosely inspired by the classic Chinese historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms but uses the always awesome looking super deformed Gunams instead. One of those looks an awful lot like Wing Zero Custom. I wonder if that was intentional or not?

Late to the party, but the whole game revolves around redesigns of iconic Gundams. And, as a massive IBOtard, I very much love the Ma Chao Barbatos. Great mix of the best aspects of all three main versions. Also, finally part seperated claws... in an SD, no less

The games does seem pretty damn cool. I hope we get a translated version. Just the text portion, not the voice portion. It worked well for Gundam Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn, no need to re-dub it

So, I just finished watching the dub of G Gundam on Sunday and I loved it. G Gundam is my favorite series. The ending was good though I was disappointed that Rain and Domon didn't kiss. My favorite characters are Rain, Domon, George, Chibodee, Schwarz Bruder/Kyoji, and Allenby. My favorite Gundams are Gundam Rose and the Noble Gundam. I loved the fact that the series had humor and transformation sequences for the pilots. XD My least favorite characters are Sai Saici cause he's annoying and Argo. I love the second opening Trust You Forever, I love George's smile. And I love the second ending theme which I personally find the whole scene with Rain trying to kiss Domon to be cute and funny. XD I also think it would sound better if the song was sung by a woman. I ship Domon x Rain and George x Marie Louise. Overall after both watching Gundam Wing and G Gundam I can say that I loved them both. Also, I recently found a pin of Relena from Gundam Wing at a thrift store which I'm sending to my boyfriend. ^_^ Also, when Gundam Wing and G Gundam were aired on Toonami did they use the Japanese opening and ending themes or did they dub them?

I wasn't a big fan of G Gundam so I can't say, but in the case of Wing, they used intros like these, and for endings they used an instrumental version of the first opening.

Wow that sucks. Up here in Canada, YTV played the real OP and I think it was the first Japanese OP I ever saw.

When I saw the Toonami video the Nostalgia Critic put up this week, the only Gundam series he covered was Wing due to it being the most popular in America but not in Japan.

Kinda weird topic for him to cover since I recall him not liking Anime outside Ghibli films.

To be fair, it actually wasn't really Critic himself talking about Gundam. One of his female co-workers (Not Tamara) appeared on the episode with the regulars and talked about it pretty much by herself saying that while Wing did bring more Gundam franchises to the American light, none played as well in Toonami as Wing so that's why she only talked about that one.

Also, the main gist of the Toonami special was that the rest of the Channel Awesome crew were putting Critic up to speed on most of the Toonami shows they could remember because according to Critic, Toonami was "past his time".

I still remember when the original Gundam series was aired back in 2001. One of the episodes was officially ommitted from broadcast and dvd volumes at request of Tomino himself due to disapproving of the animation quality. Also, the broadcast was ended prematurely before the final episodes aired presumably because of 9/11.

Cucuruz Doan's Island, Tomino really hated that episode.

Indeed. Good to see a fellow "Canadian YTV person" ^_^

Our version of SEED was also almost uncut which is why it succeeded so much up here. YTV and Bionix made some really good decisions pertaining to anime back in the late 90s and early-mid 2000s, shame how the channel completely changed today.

I just got the G blu rays the other day, started re watching them and gotta admit the show is not as hype as I remember it

I watched 00 Awakening of the Trailblazer with a friend a few days ago.
And my god, this movie is an absolute clusterfuck start to finish. Starts off relatively tame with some of the usual interventions, but quickly turns into something I can only describe as a mix of a fever dream after watching EoE and the things playing in the GTA V cinemas.
Visuals and music are amazing, and the movie still manages to be fun - but the narrative is so much of a mess that calling it "incoherent" would be an understatement. I can't even give a summary of the events, because I still don't actually comprehend what I saw.
