I guess Bell's warning of how my life would be filled with darkness if I didn't watch the next episode of Reconguista was right  since I was beating myself up for not watching it until I finally did and thankfully the character development picked up steam. I'm not particularly enthralled by the increasing evidence that Bell and Aida may be family so no go on the romance for them but if that means we may get some Bell/Noredo lovin in the future, I wouldn't go so far to say it was a huge loss with the former. As for the tension between Bell and Aida's parents, they so will be getting hitched by the end of the show if they don't get whacked first since they already quarrel like a couple.

Gundam Build Try Fighters 8

Yaddah yaddah, annoying sister lost, blah blah...

Disappointed that a particular question wasn't answered: who repairs Sekai's Gunpla?

Even if we admit someone on his team is skilled enough to do it, wouldn't they need to know what the original creator did to Build Burning Gundam in order to repair it correctly?

I always assumed it was Kousaka who was doing the repair jobs, as it is stated he is a top class builder. I realize that the three don't know that the Build Burning was built by Sei, but I believe that it will be revealed to them around the mid point of the show, especially if that gunpla is damaged beyond repair. Sei will be a deus ex machina and build Sekai a new one as it is a bit of a trope in Gundam shows that the main character gets a mid-series upgrade.

I think Kou does, as he said Sei used it in one of the competitions.

Hello everyone, Gundam newbie here!
I just finished Zeta, following the common advise to watch Gundam in production order. It left me sad and confused...
SPOILER: Show
Is it Kamille himself, who is able to unite the souls of the dead within his body, or does he need the Gundam for that? I he does, was this the intention of whoever build the Zeta Gundam (his father, if I'm correct)? How could he know?

Also: I waited for an explanation of Char's and Haman's past, that didn't come. Why is she kind of obsessed with him? Did they have some sort of romance during those seven years? It's hinted at, but never really explained.

Also: Where was Sayla? We saw her once at the beach, listening to the broadcast of Char's speech. That's it. I consider this a weakness of storytelling. It just doesn't make sense to bring back all the important members of the White Base's crew, except her. At least, someone could have explained what she was doing during a conversation.

Anyhow, I enjoyed it, even if I had whished for a few less fights and more direct character interaction. Also I got tired of Newtypes being mystiriously being drawn towards each other resulting in drama. I got that whith Amuro and Lalah already, it just feels strange and sudden everytime.

Guess it's time for ZZ now. :hahaha:

Can you guys recommend a manga that won't spoil me if I only saw the first two series so far? I need more Char... *sigh*

SPOILER: Show
Sayla wasn't in the show because of production issues and stuff. She was supposed to play a role in the show, but the seiyuu had other stuff to do and therefore her character was cut.

Haman's past is explained further in ZZ Gundam. Char was gonna be in ZZ Gundam along with Amuro, but Tomino got the greenlight to do Char's Counterattack so he cut them out.

Kamille was able to do it himself, as Kamille is the strongest Newtype to have ever lived.

That being said, Zeta Gundam is my personal favourite of the Gundam and, IMO, one of the greatest mecha shows ever made.

Which is probably I didn't like ZZ Gundam that much :/

Kamille gets so angry he summons the power of the dead. It's literally space magic. The Zeta novels added the explanation of the bio-sensor that was in the Zeta Gundam who amplifies the power, speed and strength of the mobile suit for a short period of time, and in some cases sucks in the psychic powers to use as a weapon, when the pilot is mentally and emotionally distraught, usually when angry or upset.

If you don't count Char's Deleted Affair, Haman's past remains a mystery til the end. As far as canon goes, she had a strong Newtype connection to Char and wanted to rebuild Zeon with his help.

Sayla was on safari. No, I'm not joking, her voice actor was traveling the world and was not available.

You can check out Char's Deleted Affairs or like the rest of us buy Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin for the Char fix.

No, CDA takes place between MSG and Zeta, Origin is the manga of MSG.

That Origin preview looks great! :slowpoke:

Is it a pre-Gundam story? It appears to focus on Char's life from childhood until the starting point of the series. IIRC this part of the story was only explored in flashbacks, at least in the compilation movies.

Origin adds a lot of backstory to Zeon, the Zabis and the politics that led to the One Year War. Char's past is one part of it.

Oh, good to know. :gasp: I always thought Char's Counter Attack took place after ZZ. Maybe I mistook the production order for the chronologic one.

During a sleepless night, I started ZZ yesterday and there's a good chance, I'll drop it. Especially if it isn't needed to unterstand CCA. I'm okay with it being more lighthearted and funny, but I haven't found a character to empathize with. The new hero feels a little faint, his friends are awful, his little sister seems to be nothing but a cliché and there has been no likeable villain so far. Although I have to admit that bishonen-Cello made me chuckle.
What bothers me the most is how ZZ treats Brighto-kanchou. The crew doesn't pay him respect anymore instead he became a grumpy old man at 30. That makes me sad. :sniffle:
Also, it feels totally inappropriate to change the characters that much and still claim to be a direct sequel to Zeta. I'm not pleased.

Char's Counter-Attack (CCA) does take place after ZZ, though ZZ isn't really required viewing in order to understand it (for the most part). "CDA" refers to the manga Char's Deleted Affair.

ZZ comes across as something of a "fuck you" to Zeta fans, and while I personally didn't like it at all (somehow I found Victory more enjoyable but for all the wrong reasons ), the second half of it is certainly watchable. Haman Karn is love. Haman Karn is live.

Jewdough on other hand is asldkgasigpohghoyuhjbblh[oi;h
