Late 2015....... Ya there has to be more than just a frigging subtitle track and a few lines, this is messed up.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Take it from me that if it were just minor changes to the subtitle track, that would only take a day or two's work, tops. The question is how long Khara themselves have been taking to try and get shit translated the way they want it, so it might not all warrant blame on Funimation alone.
The other question is how long it takes to mass produce the things once everything is locked in. That I don't have even a clue of guessing.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

Mass Production probably wouldn't take too long. I might be wrong because I'm going off of the games industry but time between the product going gold to shipped is usually 2-3 weeks. I'd assume it'd be similar for something like this too.

I think it's great, that Funimation took that chance. Just from the changes in subtitles alone, lots of vague lines might be easier to put into the right context. That said, things are moving terribly slow, but I guess we have to blame Khara for this. I can't imagine why Funimation would hold the release back longer; it just doesn't seem like a wise marketing decision to me.

Well, it would help if Funi didn't complete a translation in less than a week. The chanses of completely missing the point decrease when you're careful the first time around.

^ True, but you can even hear the Egnrish term “First Children” in the Japanese performances of NGE. Slapping a “First Child” in the subs does little to distract from that fact. So technically it wouldn’t have been an inaccurate translation of they included “First Children” in the English subs/dubs. It just would have been grammatically stupid.
Accurate translation ≠ Correct grammar
In NTE the Japanese actors actually say things like “First Child” instead of “First Children.” So no one should need to be pointing out their incorrect English grammar in that instance this time around.

Assuming it's https://dankanemitsu.wordpress.com Studio khara's in-house translator, there's nothing to worry about. He translated 2.0 at a film festival.
And NGE rendered things as "_ Children" in English. e.g: Rei = First Children, partly because she has all those clones according to an old (official?) FAQ. Eva NTE renders their names in Japanese as "_ Boy/Girl". Rei example again: First Girl.

I've seen the release date of early February 2015 be thrown around though I cannot seem to find an official source.
I had a long conversation with a woman at Right Stuf today and she did tell me that she knew nothing and claimed nobody she knew within the company knew anything of a release date, either.
Honestly, as much as I hate this delay, when I saw the English dub for myself my thought was that the VA for Kaworu was a terrible choice, IIRC. That was my biggest issue with it, but that is a big problem. I would be more happy with a high quality product than what I saw over a year ago. However, I am positive they will not fire Jerry Jewell to appease fans since they are already past the halfway point with these movies.

The only explanation at this point is that the dub is so bad, that it actually kills people, and they just can't release it.
The wait will be worth it, the book is prett cool. :)

February date was tentative for the UK, Amazon had that date before 3.33 vanished and Funimation (I think, maybe Manga) tweeted saying, "You can (not) have a UK 3.33 release until February" or something along those lines.
The supposed date was a few days ago...
