The "cat ears" are probably to make possible to the hair clips to fit in there. Of course, they could be less cat-ish, but, unfortunately, asking for no fanservice nowadays does nothing.

Yes, the kanji is correct. It may not mean so tight as to air-tight, but that it is fully enclosed without opening or apertures.

I don't mind fanservice OR fanservice so far in NME, mind you, but I do enjoy the twisted fanservice of EoE just as much. :devil:

I found this on Tumblr... I can't find this image anywhere else! Of course, I'm not very good at finding sources and stuff yet, though...
Note the covering over a side of the face--probably fixing the damage from Mari vs. Zeruel?

I find Anno's Eva-02 drawing better than the magazine spread. The magazine spread's head looks like a fusion of Eva-02 and a silver C-3PO, with mechanical gills.
In and of itself, self-evident.
