It never stops amazing me how popular Evangelion is in Japan. An animation like Evangelion would never get such attention in the West.
Apparently, there's Pizza Hut product placement in RoE 1.0 and all!

Yeah, I saw them a while ago too! It never, ever ceases to surprise me how popular Eva is over there. Eva has Pizza Hut and Doritos on it's side, as well as Japan's favorite pop star Utada Hikaru - Gainax is definately making a ton of money on this movie!

Not nearly as many as UCC and Doritos, which were seen clearly enmass in Misato's dirty apartment. When Shinji opens Misato's fridge for the first time, and says "snacks?", all the shelves were filled with Doritos. Also, there was a row of beer that wasn't Yebisu (Kirin Lager). The Pizza Hut sign was seen briefly in the background, when Shinji was walking to school or something, there may have been another that I missed.

And the cool thing about CG, is that even more product placement can be stuffed in before the DVD release!

I remember when Star Wars I opened here, Pizza Hut made these plastic/rubbery drinking cups in the shapes of certain Star Wars characters. So what's wrong about drinking from a plastic Shinji's skull?

desu doesn't really mean any one thing, it's simply added at the end to sentences. I think it's just used to state that something exists? Though I know that would be arimasu/imasu.
