You have no idea how much thought I've given that...:?
Oh, by the way... ALL of the original voice actors are in this, right?

It lists all the original seiyu in the IMDB page for the 1.0, but I'm not sure how much I trust it.

EDIT: Ramiel looks fuckin intense!

Wait, where did you see Rebuild Shamshel?

How many versions of Fly Me to the Moon does that make now?

Looks like Shamshel's "mouth" is just the leg pouch she's always had.

Holy crap, the animation seems to be top quality! Did you notice the way Rei's hair was wavering in the wind? Look closely. It is brief, but holy shit does it look good.

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH MMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!

[/fanboy]

Well, they weren't kidding about some stuff being a shot for shot remake. I swear to god, if this is identical to the original series but just prettier, Anno is gonna have some serious explaining to do.

But seeing amazing animation like that.... it's just cool to think of Evangelion with a budget this time around! :D

(I fear for poor Ritsuko becoming a cameo)

No Ritsuko being a bitch? Darn hope that doesn't happen. My favortie frame from the trailer was Eva Unit-01 walking. The way it moved seemed and the music itself seemed to show an endless cycle of pain that never ends.

I gotta say the trailer was wicked. I was really sold on the look of Tokyo-3 coming out of the ground. It's one of those scenes that just looked unbelelievably cinematic! And great to see Anno is still keeping his random shots of powerlines and towers- I love those.

Favorite shot? Have to be Shamshel and his jittery bug legs. I've always loved what he did for the characters but I've found the Angel itself to be kinda lame and unimpressive. Those bone white legs just make me shudder.

And now, my post:

That's not the prettiest screener I've been privy to.

The look for Shamshel's arms reminds me of Asari's Ye Olde Concept Drawing:

Not digging the legs. And, yeah, 'ki, I don't see a mouth, either.

It's not as if they have any excuses for holding back this time.

I have a feeling I'm gonna watch this video again and again until a better quality copy of the trailer comes out.

I have faith in Anno, I have faith in Tsurumaki, I have faith in this production.

What do you mean by this? You've seen a better quality copy of the trailer?

I for one love the new instrument phallic alien's new look. With all those legs, it looks less phallic and more alien.

I do find it interesting that many shots are compositionally exactly the same, but animated anew.

Now that I've actually seen the trailer, I kind of feel a bit empty. =(

Shamshel always had the legs. Well... eight of them. They were just folded up when she was "standing". And they never wriggled around spastically like a bug who's been flipped over.

Now that I've actually seen the trailer, I kind of feel a bit empty. =(

Don't worry. When you see a version that doesn't look like crap, it will be a completely new experience.

Well, he looks a whole lot freakier with a skeletal ribcage...here's to him putting those smaller limbs to use!

Tokyo-3 really does look awesome.

Tokyo 3 is looking very good.
Shamshel looks a bit more intimidating with that...thing, in the middle of its chest. More importantly, this definitely looks like grade A animation.

Okay, does this really confirm LCL as being black? It could just appear that way once sho loses power during the first fight with an angel.

It sure does add to the air of isolation inside the entry plug though

I... tried not to think about it.

More importantly -- will the movie be any good?

Jobhug wrote:Okay, does this really confirm LCL as being black?

Too dark. Couldn't so much as see the LCL in the process of filling the plug.

Pointless Trivia: Shamshel seems to be regarded as a lady-Angel by her creator (Yoshitoh Asari).

Fun Fact: No smirking Kaworu. Maybe his part in Film 1 is little more than a cameo. Allowing more room for the intersting characters.
