The original OA show coasts on a generalized "PG-13"/"TV-14" aesthetic throughout, but I've absolutely no idea what The End of Evangelion would receive if it were rated by the MPAA. I tend to think of it as one of the best "NC-17" movies never rated by the MPAA.

EoE is a very tame 'R.' People blow its adult content way out of proportion.

^ Full frontal, graphic sexual situations involving a minor, sci-fi violence, and no major Hollywood studio players to talk down to a rather otherwise jumpy MPAA is where I'm getting my "NC-17" rating from. You'd be surprised how many lesser ratings were granted simply because someone with money outside of the MPAA was persuasive about how pubic hair wasn't all that bad, or convinced them that everything would be fine if the filmmakers simply trimmed a few seconds from a strangulation scene.

Basically, watch This Film Has Not Been Rated. It's a neat insight into the strange habits of the MPAA.

Amazon now has a Blu Ray/DVD collectors edition bundle available for pre-order, with a release date of February 29th. Don't know how long that's been there, but I haven't seen it before. Anyone got any information in what comes with each release? I can remember the old release having an artbook, but I can't see that anywhere.

I can't tell if the US blu-ray for 3.33 is supposed to be a blu-ray combo or not. Some websites have it listed as one, Funimation's website doesn't mention a multi-format at all, but their announcement last year very clearly said it would have one.

As I understand, it is despite not yet being labelled as such everywhere. Amazon at least mentions multi-format. February 2nd, don't disappoint

I'm sure a few stores will probably ship/sell before the street date. It doesn't seem like a big deal for releases like these when you're not a brick and mortar store.

I absolutely despise the covers for 1.11 (ugly CG action art) & 2.22 (Mari is fun & all but should not be your cover image).

I figured the inside case would use the run-and-gun Unit 08 that some of the international releases have used. The plain blue cover would be nice, though!

I have a feeling the Vessel was one of the contentious terms they were asked to re-translate. They used "Vessel of the Adams" originally so it'll be interesting to see if that changes.

I saw it January 2014, so I'll doubt I'll remember anything beyond if Asuka calls Shinji an asshole in this one and if Kawrou can pronounce his own name.
