Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Mr. Bauersfeld, aka Alliance Fleet Admiral Ackbar, 93.

He'll be dearly missed for that one immortal line that became the greatest meme ever made.

Yeah, just saw that. Did not see that one coming. He apparently died after suffering flu-like symptoms for the past several weeks . . . peculiar. He was only 57, too.

I actually got to see him live once. He only performed one song.

He was a talented artist, but he was also very. . . difficult. He refused to embrace the modern age, he didn't allow the original version of his songs to be posted on Youtube or anything. If you wanted to listen to prince you had to go out and buy a physical CD. Which made it very hard for modern fans to get into him.

I love the mans music, and I don't want to sound callous. But I hope he didn't set any postmortem contractual obligations that will keep his music from being put on Youtube because his music deserves to be heard by a wider audience.

Highly eccentric, in that at one point issued a declaration that his name would be a symbol, and then another where he put on extreme controls to his music, yes, ever refusing digitization, fearing the Internet, that even a mere accidental playing of his music in the background on Youtube meant a massive lawsuit.

The Batman movie was the only time when he got to shine much in its soundtrack.

I find myself wondering whether his being a Jehovah's Witness might have compromised his recent medical treatment.

Oh, almost certainly. I heard he'd been in need of corrective surgery for chronic pain in his knees and/or hips for years due to all the wild dancing in his shows but avoided having it treated for religious reasons.

Some news sources are now suggesting that "flu" was an euphemism for "drug overdose". :cringe:

Also, if he really had the flu for several weeks  , as some sources are reporting, then he really ought to have been in hospital.

^He may have had what is called walking pneumonia. It would have started out as the flu, but there was a complication and he wouldn't have noticed anything was wrong until it was too late.

That sounds about right. I've heard a bunch of speculation about drug overdoses, but I'm skeptical of that because the media wants every death to be about a drug overdose. People, even famous people, die from legit illness from time to time as well.
