Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
That's a different George Martin, the writer. George Martin of Beatles fame has indeed passed, and it's even acknowledged in the link you provide.

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
I don't want to sound like I'm wishing death on the man but when George R.R. Martin does die, I hope it's in the most random and anticlimactic way possible. Bonus points if he still hasn't finished those damn books.

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
No it isn't. Sir George Martin is dead, exactly as Paul (and the article he linked) said. The fact that some other guy named George Martin is not dead doesn't make that any less true.

Shocked about this one. I'm not a big fan of ELP but being into prog they are a huge influence on a number of the artists I enjoy not least of all Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. Tarkus is an absolute monster of a track though.

"Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends."
I guess all shows have to end somewhere.
The man was on of the legends of Progressive Rock. ELPs first four albums are all masterpieces, even if they all have a couple of "whatever" songs in them.
Rest in peace Keith, you were one of the best.

For this I have to change my signature for a while.
Rejoice, glory is ours. Our young men have not died in vain. Their graves need no flowers. The tapes have recorded their names.
I am all there is.
Negative! Primative! Limited! I let you live.
But I gave you life.
What else could you do?
To do what was right.
I'm perfect, are you?

I loved my dads old thunderbird VHS tapes growing up, they were so cheesy but I loved them. It's sad to know they're both gone now.

Dr. Joe Medicine Crow, the last living Plains Indian war chief, dies at 102
Medicine Crow was born on October 27, 1913, near Lodge Grass.
The decorated WWII veteran and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom attended the University of Southern California where he earned a degree in anthropology in 1939. He is the first member of the Crow tribe to obtain a master's degree. In 2015, Billings school officials named the new middle school in the Heights "Medicine Crow Middle School," which is currently under construction on the corner of Bench Boulevard and Barret Road. He also appeared for the ground breaking of the school's construction.
Crow was a frequent guest speaker at Little Big Horn College and Little Big Horn Battlefield Museum, and has appeared in several documentaries about the battle. He was also a historian and author of several books, and is best known for his writings and lectures concerning the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
