FML general thread [8]

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Or just have dub and sub nights so everyone can watch what they want.

No. There has to be someone who is objectively right, and that person is the one who cuts the head off of the other person.

So what I thought was just a little rash or maybe a spider bite or something like that overnight turned into half my foot being swollen and red. Last I got checked I don't have diabetes but I do have a family history there so I'm not about to screw around with weird foot problems. So yay, skipping my morning classes to go to the ER... unsurprisingly turns out I have some sort of bacterial infection. Hopefully it's the sort that goes away in a few days with antibiotics, not the kind that eats your flesh from the inside. :um:

All of the law firm vacation scheme applications I've made so far have been rejected. I have more in the pipeline, but I don't feel particularly confident after the others were all shut down very early. On reflection, I feel like my CV is particularly lacking for any kind of legal work, given that I didn't do very well in my first year, but it's still annoying given that I didn't have many opportunities for pro bono work until I moved to the UK. The prospect of sitting for the LPC and applying for a pupillage seems extremely daunting now. It was a sound choice, but I guess me and my family didn't really consider that I didn't really have the amount of work/customer experience that seems to be commonplace in UK working culture.

I've spent much of the past week in bed with mild flu or a serious cold. Yesterday I was much better, but today I felt less good again. Today's symptom was weird, though; although my nose has stopped running and my ears are clear, I was hearing all sounds from a position about 25 degrees to the left of where they should have been. This actually had me panicking for a while, as I do so much audio stuff - but fortunately it seems to be clearing, and the error is down to about ten degrees at present.

That sounds like a very concerning symptom and I think you should see a doctor.

Hope you recover Paul.

But seriously, go see a doctor. For a man your age, even the smallest symptom can be a sign of something much more dangerous down the line. My neighbors 80 year old mother, died of the common cold.

Be safe.
