You may choose to think that way, but it's not really accurate. In particular (which was the point) the Internet was around before the web became public, which is why it's wrong to give Berners-Lee credit for stuff that he was not responsible for. I myself was using email, ftp and other less remembered protocols before any browsers were publicly available.

Active shooter on Arkansas State University campus

I'm safe at home, but the campus is frighteningly close to me. Here's what the news isn't saying:

He rammed a barrier with his truck, and got out with a shotgun. Eyewitnesses claim he said "This is personal. I don't want any innocents getting hurt." or something to that effect. He has propane tanks strapped to his body, and is surrounded. School is on lockdown.
