Walkin' On Moonshine (Weird Image Thread 6)

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

I see only one question mark there. Answering the question is entering your age.

Yeah, they still make blank tapes, music and VHS.

Even broadcast tapes -- and decks -- also exist, primarily for replaying archived footage and/or for digital transfer (converting them into usual file formats). There are places where tape (one thing come to mind is the Betacam format) is still in use because of the expense involved in moving over to digital broadcasting.

My observation ~4 years ago was that cassette tapes were still very popular in Tunisia, mostly for use in cars/vans. You could buy pre-recorded ones in the markets.

The actual poster is in proper English or Hausa:

"As long as we're all living, and as long as we're all having fun, that should do it, right?" (from: The Eccentric Family )

No, Squig's poster was real - the pigdin patois on it is very common in sub-Saharan Africa. They've also done radio spots with the same dialect. I heard them play one on NPR when the ebola outbreak was still starting.
Though, Gob still might look good in a cocktail dress.

However, if the poster read "Death" as a final sign and symptom...why doesn't it, in fact? -o-;

I thought it was a racist joke fit for takedown until I saw Squig say it was real, did some digging, and became amazed.

Yup - Nigerian pidgin is fascinating to listen to. It's badically a Creole language. It's really weird until you train your ear to it, then it becomes amazing how familiar it is.

.....I love English.

Same here, until I read a bit more, I was thoroughly convinced it was written in ebonics.

I'll admit that I made the same initial assumption that it was racist BS. Although, that sort of pidgin being widely used enough to make it onto official medical posters is very interesting to me.
