:scared: That quickly?! Holy yikes! No wonder all the literature on the subject treats blood chokes so much more seriously than wind chokes. And no wonder so many refs literally pounce on a fighter to get them to stop a choke.

I'm actually being pretty generous: a person begins blacking out at around the 3 to 6 second mark once the choke is firmly applied. there are other factors at work, the primary one being weight (thick necks make it harder to get a blood choke), but it is still very quick. and with a person's hands restrained, you lose a lot of visual cues that would indicate that they're blacking out.

Yo, Rose.

Lesbian moms in a Cartoon Network show.

I guess it isn't anything big, but it's something. This just adds to my love for Clarence. And my love for Cartoon Network.

Someone in the comments figured it was so they could show this in countries where SS couples are not ok by changing the voice and lines a little.........not ideal but it's something.

Even leaving aside that the series looks pretty awful. I've had to watch a lot of modern Nickelodeon/CN/Disney channel claptrap since my kid brother grew up with satellite tv but I was struck by the line how lel-ironic-XD, self consciously smug and poor quality modern day children cartoons had become. I'm pretty sure this isn't just nostalgia speaking.

To boot I really hate this sort of flat aesthetic. Is "Avatar" the only western cartoon series that doesn't do this or what.

It's like deja vu all over again: weird to see the return to capsules.

Cool, though.

I watched what I could of the launch and flight before I had to head to work this morning. Exciting stuff. My name was also on board too on a microchip along with the names of millions of other people that submitted. So for four hours or so today, I was in space... in name only

To Mars in that little thing? Seriously, even with 50% greater volume than Apollo, that capsule is way too small for a Mars trip. Why NASA is selling the capsule as a way to Mars beats me. If anyone has any plans for a manned mission to Mars, the right way to go would be to bring up several stages of a much larger spacecraft with superior provisions and heavy radiation protection. Going to Mars is going to take months, and any astronauts will have to stay on the planet for a fortnight at the very least.

You've heard about the one-way trips to Mars, right?

Let it never be said that there are not multiple sides to every scientific debate.

Well, this isn't really an issue of multiple sides on a science debate: it's calling out a publicity stunt for being a publicity stunt. Don't get me wrong: I want to see Mars colonized badly. If there was an actual one-way shot to Mars, I would be signing up for it like THAT.

I would like that shot to have a better success rate beyond "Everyone Dead in 68 Years," however.

From a logistics standpoint I don't see how a Mars expedition could work without being absolutely massive: Years of unmanned missions to provision a landing zone on Mars itself, a massive craft primarily assembled in orbit to make the journey safely.

We need a permanent moonbase and a bigger presence in orbit. Trying for Mars now is like the Roanoke colony striking out for California.
