It didn't sound like that then, it sounds like that now. Besides, I still like some of their songs.

Just finished my live music 3 day weekend.
Started in Sydney on Friday at the Opera House with PVT who were awesome, before heading back home for some local bands on Saturday, Tortoise HEAD Platoon and The Hedonists, then finally back to Sydney on Sunday at the Opera House again for the incredible Seekae. These guys topped off the entire weekend, they were just amazing.

Also, now I am super buggered.

Just posted a new song as a free download, "New Faction". http://essel.spork-chan.net/2012/05/limitations-part-1-new-faction/

There's also a little article on its somewhat unusual production within a strict limitation.

If you liked "18 Apostolos" from Seventeen More Times you'll probably like this too. Check it out! Share it with your friends! Put it in salads!

Even as one of your most vocal critics, I must concede that this song is better than any dressing.
"Now, from Nature we obtain abundant information about ourselves, and precious little about others. About the woman you clasp in your arms, can you say with certainty that she does not feign pleasure? About the woman you mistreat, are you quite sure that from abuse she does not derive some obscure and lascivious satisfaction? Let us confine ourselves to simple evidence: through thoughtfulness, gentleness, concern for the feelings of others we saddle our own pleasure with restrictions, and make this sacrifice to obtain a doubtful result." -The Divine Marquis

"I agree Hans, but we have talked about those anal fisting analogies." -Werner Herzog

Beck and Childish Gambino (Donald Glover from Community) did a song together, called "Silk Pillow." It's pretty... okay. Beck's sense of flow is off on a slower beat (not that he was ever that great at rapping anyway), and as much as I like Glover as a comedian and actor I've never found his rapping anything to write home about. I like the beat quite a bit, though.

Brendon Small's Galaktikon is a special kind of amazing that I can't quite describe. Something that's So-Bad-It's-Rad, only deliberately so.

Finally got the accompanying article done for "Valley of Echoes," the second song in my Limitations series. It's a spacey, melodic breakbeat tune produced under weird esoteric limits, and more importantly the song is a free download!

Go download Valley of Echoes, then disperse it throughout the fibers of the internet!

Awesome as always Esselfortium, but not quite as good as New Faction.

Swans - Public Castration Is A Good Idea. I retract my previous statement: Gira can clearly sing pretty well, or could in the early 80s. At times it's even better than his shouting - the version of "Fool" on here is genuinely crushing. I kind of wish /mu/ hadn't recommended that I start with his 90s stuff, that's like five hours wasted on mediocre "experimental" rock albums with fifteen songs per disc, less than half of which are actually worth listening to.
Nothing is so valuable that it need not be started afresh, nothing is so rich that it need not be enriched constantly.

Man, I love it when Animal Collective go on tour and their closest show is 700 miles away. :irked:

In other words, "Winter's Love" is still an amazing song.

Trespassing - Adam Lambert has been a blast. I didn't expect the 2nd album to top For Your Entertainment but it has.

Oh boy, Momoiro Clover Z has done it again. This PV is just as freaky as their earlier releases: http://www.tokyohive.com/2012/06/momoiro-clover-z-releases-pv-for-otome-senso/

My first impression of the song itself isn't that good, though. Yakushimaru has screwed up with her task.

I'm currently listening to PJ Harvey's "Let England Shake". An amazing album, everyone should go and check it out!

Hmm, after repeated listening I've come to the conclusion that Valley of Echoes is the better thought out song, but there's just something memorable and expressive New Faction had which the second one doesn't have.

I've mixing it up a bit more recently and moving a bit further away from my usual Classic Rock/Alternative Rock back to some more electronic.

Starting with Passion Pit. My local radio station is starting to diversify it's collection and a single from their upcoming album popped up. I liked it so I decided to check out their last album. Instantly hooked. I'm waiting, rather impatiently, for their next album which is set to hit the shelves around mid July.

I've also gotten into the Ratatat discography lately as well. All instrumental, and pretty relaxing. One of my favorites at the moment would have to be Ratatat-Loudpipes.

In my absence I've been all over the place in terms of genre. Everywhere from Miles Davis to Kimbra. From Daft Punk to Queens of the Stone age. Some notable mentions would have to be The Black Keys (went to their concert as well), Justice, and Gustave Holst.

Muse goes dubstep?

I'm not sure how I feel about this.
