I wonder what a Damon Lindelof version of GunBuster would like.

I don't know what it's about and i don't have a copy to watch, at least not yet. The same excuse applies to Nadia.

But yeah, i've heard it's a pretty good series and i should watch it when i have the time, which probably can be in a few days, if nothing bad happens with my forum.

I'm all for topic, but dude, why would you tell someone to stream anime? That's just not cool.

Anyway, if you hate Nicolas Cage so much, how about Courteney Cox for Jung?

Because anime DVD's are priced absurdly high in general?

Actually I'd say that it's because Gunbuster's DVDs are priced absurdly high in particular.

No, I mean streaming anime is terrible. And why would I or a hypothetical someone else buy Gunbuster on DVD when it has since been released on Blu-Ray?

Because the BDs are like $200 in the marketplace, if you can even find them, which is more than a little steep for six episodes?

Oh come on guys we're really talking about where to buy anime for a cheap price. I would really like to discuss the actual topic. I'm not trying to be a dick here but I started this thread for possible live action Gunbuster cast members. I don't want to talk about anime dvd prices, just Gunbuster. And for the record I don't hate Nicolas Cage, I'm just pointing to the fact that the main cast of Gunbuster is comprised of teenagers so it really doesn't make sense to pick actors who are OVER 40 YEARS OLD. Look for actors in there mid-early 20's or below.

Like I said, he'd make a great Coach. And Samuel L Jackson is old enough to portray the captain guy. Zoé Héran is younger than 20, and I really enjoyed her in Tomboy. Stick her opposite a pretty chick and you get the whole plain vs womanly aspect going, too. Actually, Jeanne Disson's character in Tomboy had that sort of contrast, she'd work well.

Edit: Oh, and Christopher Lee as Smith.

please tell me your joking. THE MAN IS 90 YEARS OLD! I can see Samuel Jackson as the Captain and MAYBE Nicolas as Coach but come on a 90 year old man you're obviously joking!

Oh, is he? I guess I don't think of age as much as you do when I'm watching movies. It's probably a side effect of watching so much animated film and television. I'll take your word for it.

Completely off-topic, but everyone should check out Christopher Lee's Wikipedia page sometime. The dude is a fucking god among men.

In fact, I think it's kind of a silly to make GunBuster into a live action work when the whole point of the anime...was to be a tribute to anime.

It would be like if you wanted to make a film celebrating the work of Spike Lee, but had every actor in Yellow face. It would make no sense.
