DIEBUSTER CREATED GURREN LAGANN

Before we begin, this contains major spoilers to both series!

Now that that is out of the way, lets begin! For those who have seen both series you would know that Gurren Lagann is mainly just a gender swapped
Gunbuster/Diebuster and the amount of references that it makes to Diebuster in particular are uncanny. However what if that was not just for commical purposes and actually has a real serious reason. Nono and Lal'C cut a black hole into two by somehow generating a field of tachyons around themselves thus allowing them to travel faster than the speed of light and even go at an infinite distance. This allowed them to reach the black hole's singularity and they expanded it back into regular space turning it into a white hole. This created a second big bang.

So why didn't the current universe get destroyed?

The way I see it, Nono warped gave Lal'C part of her warp capabilities to escape the white hole while she used the rest of it to warp herself and the white hole somewhere outside of the current universe.

So now she has her own universe, lets assume that she would try to rebuild her universe, she would make it the way that she had always visualized it. If this visualization of the universe is distorted enough, this new universe should be what we recognize as FLCL and TTGL!

Hiroyuki Yamaga didn't write DieBuster but contrary to what many people will tell you DieBuster is set very much the same way as GunBuster.

Gurren Lagann is what happens when the team at Gainax finally got the FLCL out of their system with Diebuster. Spiral energy is of course what the S2 engine uses.

so you're saying that it is evangelion that has that kind of connection with gurren lagann. I still think it's with gunbuster/diebuster, there are just too many similarities.

By that logic 90% of mecha series are set in the same continuity.

that's not necessarily true. I know that different mechas can be similar to each other without being related but it goes farther than that in Gurren Lagann. NONO HERSELF ACTUALLY APPEARS IN GURREN LAGANN!

That's right, it's called Super Robot Wars. BTW, I'm still waiting for Banpresto to improve Diebuster too.
So let’s make a wish.

My point is that there are too many similarities between the two and I feel that is because Gurren Lagann is possibly the third buster series. I mean c'mon giga drill breaker looks exactly like Inazuma double kick and Nono is completely just a female Kamina.

If we listed every anime that had an inazuma double kick....
God, Apparently you all have been discussing Q since November. Catching up on the discussion is harrowing.

Oh I already knew that spiral energy was the power source of the S2 engines, just like I knew that the space monsters are angels from other planets.

You know I find this kind of amazing, since every other Gainax mecha anime has been in SRW at some point.

Though I'm okay with pretending DieBuster was some weird fever dream I had one day.
