Okay, that may be what it's called in the fansub (I haven't bought the english DVD) but regardless of language, its got the same acronym:

FLCL

I love this series!

I consider it Gainax's finest animated work

(aside from Eva...that is  )

If anyone has not heard of this outrageously insane series, please do yourself a favor and pick up the DVD...or try to catch it on Cartoon Network (I think they're showing it),

or, if you're like me, track down the fansubs through Bittorrent or other file sharing programs

I loved FLCL too, if your even partly sane, you better see it. Its one of those series(actullay the only one) where you DON'T analyze it. You sit down on the couch, and just let it hit you and flow right through you. You CAN'T understand it. THAT IS what FLCL is about.

theres too many Japanese culture refrences and jokes in it to be properly localized with out butchering it, and i think the voices fit way ebtter for the Japanese, but just to let you know i dont think all dubs are bad, i liked cowboy bebops those were refreshing, and golden boys werent bad either

But that didn't stop me.

The DVDs, which come with audio commentary, do an incredibly good job at explaining all the references and some of the harder to understand scenes.

i think thats a good thing then, and the commentary is done in Japanese too so thats also good, but then it forces you to watch english dubs if you havent already seen it a billion times. but it barable with the comentary

There's a big con coming up in Toronto this summer...

I plan on picking up the DVDs.

Not only are the culture references cool, but also the various Anime refs as well!

Perhaps I read into FLCL a little too much, or at least like it a little too much, but the director did an incredible job at capturing the feel and emotion of each scene, especially the last episode, which had a very melancholy feel. Combined with one of the best soundtracks in all of anime, as well as the most intruiging characters, it's definetely a memorable piece of work.

I think FLCL is an anime masterpiece. I've heard that it was a massive hit here in the United States, but didn't do that well in Japan. That's kinda strange don't you think? Oh well, the theme I got from it is to "know thy self". The english dub is even better than the eva dub too. There are some fantastic lines in all the episodes.

"I'm not a child anymore, I'm an adult. I can buy my own insurance and everything." - Amararo

"Vacation, Alienation, Japanamation, Manga, Conga, Make'n lunch, Hawaiian punch, Fruit juice...I'm gonna kill YOU!" - Haruko

"They're fake." - Ninamori

"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's what makes it cool" - Haruko

Can anyone identify these people?

The first one sort of looks like an older version of Naota, or maybe his brother. I have no idea who the second one could be.

Well I strongly believe those pics are unofficial, just fan art. I have three reasons.

1) In FLCL, they NEVER, again NEVER showed Naota's brother. And unless Gainax is making a second season which is a vague rumor that I am not counting on, then it is simply a fan's interpretaion of Naota's brother or Naota when he's older.

2) The site has other fan art, even though the FLCL fan art looks authentic, its just someone's fan art, but very well done.

3) I have never seen those two other characters in FLCL. I didn't even recognize them as possible classmates.

Conclusion: THIS IS SIMPLY FAN ART, NO ONE OBSESS OVER IT OR MAKE FALSE ACCUSATIONS LIKE:

n00b5l_lcl<: OMGWTF!!!111@ FLCL SESON 2TWO@!!@
