I do it a lot subconsciously and I think that's why I'm so indecisive and hesitant to get up and do things. _________________ Zwischen GEHIRN und NERV, muss die SEELE sein! |

I do that all the time. Unfortunately I think I overdue it a lot of the time. Although thinking through like that is VERY important in any survival situation. So it is handy to do. Analyze, act, and react. _________________ THIS IS STEINS;GATE'S CHOICE!

Sometimes. It makes less sense to overthink all the possible outcomes than it does to just consider all of the evidence you have at hand and make a choice based on the most likely outcome. Most people aren't very good at this process, sadly. _________________ Cinelogue & Forced Perspective Cinema

I used to do it a lot, but I've embraced impulsiveness and living-in-the-moment a lot more lately. But every once in a while I do with certain things, such as my college future. _________________ —Sachi

After seeing the results of acting impulsively on my part, I at least take some time to consider the outcomes of any action I perform. Unimportant things barely get a consideration, and something important takes a few minutes to find the outcome that isn't completely irreversible.
It's not always possible go back and undo an action, but my philosophy on this is to take the action that makes it the most possible to get as close back to the original decision as possible. _________________ Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is generally the correct one.

Yes, but sometimes it's more than simply "overthinking the outcomes" for me...
I once was in a large room of people watching a movie, and I needed to go to the bathroom. Doing so would require that I walk in front of the screen, so I thought of ways that I could get to the bathroom without blocking everyone's view. There was one way that I thought up that would've included rolling on the floor in front of the TV. Then I realized that doing so would have knocked over the Xbox 360 that was playing the DVD. I was overcome with a feeling of great embarrassment for even thinking up this idea and imagining the reaction, even though I did not ever actually roll across the ground and knock the Xbox over. _________________ The Skirt-Chasing Mafioso of EGF

In 5th Grade the whole class was watching A Goofie Movie and there wasn't any way I could get up and go to the bathroom without stepping on everyone, blocking the TV, or making a huge disruption in general so I just held it until the movie was over. That was probably the greatest piss I ever took in my life, I tell you what. _________________ Cinelogue & Forced Perspective Cinema

I actually did just end up walking in front of the TV, though. My point was more being embarrassed about an idea I had that I'd never spoken to anyone because I knew that the outcome would be embarrassing. _________________ The Skirt-Chasing Mafioso of EGF

Well, I was being impulsive, and I was threatening someone with a bottle of acid (he was stealing my memory stick) and it dawned on me what might happen if a teacher came in.
A teacher came in, he didn't care.
The teacher came back, demanding the person to give back the memory stick after all the ruckus I was making shouting "Give me back my memory stick you defeatist coward" or something along that line.
I kicked the person in the shin, calling him a bastard, suddenly the teacher became infuriated and called the chemistry teacher regarding my usage of acid in my actions. (Why now, instead of before, I cannot fathom)
Slap on a wrist, I wrote apology letter because I felt dishonoured.
The above happened, and did not fit my thought along the lines of "I will be shouted at, get expelled". I think I am quite pessimistic sometime, but I was really confused... _________________ Pacis est an incommodo somnium. Vacuus bellum , orbis terrarum mos immergite in materia

The film Mr. Nobody is relevant. The whole plot is just one huge overthink where this kid weighs the consequences of various decisions in his life. In one scenario he ends up on Mars or something.
Just sayin'.

I thought of posting a response here, but then realized that if I did, there was a slight chance that some of you wouldn't like it. In fact, some of you probably wouldn't like it so much that you would seek out my death in an attempt to decrease the surplus population.
So then you would maybe sneak around my house and slit my throat in my sleep, then writing a suicide message to my friends and finally in my own blood. After which all of the girls who would have had a secret crush on me would sneak out to me grave at nights and apologize for never telling me how much they loved me.
But that's just speculation, so I'll just respond anyway. I don't think I over think outcomes that much. But it would explain some of the reasons why I'm not dating yet, even though I feel comfortable around the females. _________________ Phyre Rusty Jazz

Always.
In fact my mind imagination are always running on the redline. And at times I picture, think, imagine what other people will say or do in my mind. There's something seriously wrong with me. _________________ Avatar: Utena and Anthy hawtness 3
