Any good EVA doujinshi?

I finished reading Epilogue of Evangelion and was wondering what to read next.

Any recommendations would be helpful.

I don't care when in the series it takes place or completely new.

I am more familiar with FanFiction works than doujinshi (I sure hope I'm spelling that right).

Preferably scanlation though I do enjoy looking at the pictures if its raw Japanese.

Thanks for your time.

I'm collecting English Asuka/Shinji doujin (it's probably not up to date) here: LAS English Doujin. Be warned that not everything is safe for work, but they're marked accordingly.

Other than that, your best bet is going to THAT BOARD which specifies in Eva doujin and the like.

My recommendations at least are: Ayanami's Fans, Misatogelion (both clean and absolutely hilarious), Re-Take (the All Ages verison has been uploaded and Scanlated some time ago).

Specific clean circles are Monkey's Taste, Pengel (the group behind the Epilogue of Evangelion douijnshi), Peppy Angel. There are tons more of course, I'm just listing things off the top of my head.

SSD-san is a peddler of quality wares. I'm going to look at some of those myself! ^_^

Ignoring my pervy ways for a moment, I found this to be a really satisfying read. There was a focus on the characters that went beyond "let's imagine ways in which people may have sexytime". It explored a lot of the relationship between Asuka and Shinji that I always wondered about, and the amount of mindfuckery makes it very... evangelicious.

It has six parts, but it is pretty popular so not that difficult to find. I remember it having a strange reading order...

Re-take's viewing order was as follows;

1
2
3
0
4
After

A lot of people argued that chapter 0 was unnecessary, but I believe it is necessary. The thing is, it seems to have no chronological place in the rest of the story. I found it best to read it in the above order.

I wish I could recommend my doujinshi, but you're probably looking for 'canon-oriented' doujin and mine is pretty... unusual.

Well, there's the "Lost Memories"-one I already mentioned here: http://forum.evageeks.org/viewtopic.php?p=359942#359942

Seconding SSD:
Pengel's other "big" one; "Happy End of Evangelion" (which we'll hopefully see translated not too far into the future ;) ) & Monkey Taste's works.

For translated ones:
Most(?) of the latter's can (and should be) found in English.

If you don't mind some H-content, Tengu no Tsusura's (aka "TnT") works, especially the older ones, are worth a look on the comedy side of things, and quite a couple of them are translated.

Speaking of Jimmy Wolk, he's got a pretty interesting fan comic of his own (at least it deals with the events of 'true' Evangelion.

I couldn't recommend Re-take enough for reading. It's probably one of the most amazing Eva related works I've read yet, and I'm so grateful for the all-ages version since I despise porn but even the H-version is ok, in all honesty.

Would anyone know of any Kaworu/Rei doujinshi? Translated is a bonus but it doesn't have to be. I tried looking and failed :( I only found a cover of a supposedly clean one.

Well... you'd have to wait for a while, but I have a Rei/Kaworu relationship upcoming in my fan comic. It's 'clean' since I cannot imagine Rei or Kaworu seriously doing anything explicit.

Unfortunately, given my workload between now and then, it may not be until at least the end of the year before I get to that point.

For what it's worth, Pengel's stuff has some Kaworu/Rei in it, not just Asuka/Shinji (as well as Toji/Hikari, Kaji/Misato).... LAS is the main focus of Pengel though, I'm not sure of any JUST KawoRei doujin myself.

Has there ever been Magical Girl inspired one? I don't care who the MG is even Shinko :)

Looking in to the ones mentioned. Also I don't care if its completely random and no relation to the main cannon or games or whatever.

I can't believe the team that created "Azumanga Drifting Classroom" made Evangelion UNDERSTANDABLE!

Wait until you read Negimaru.

ILUVAsuka: if you are looking for some damn good Asuka character based doujinshi, go with Monkey's taste; The burden of Adolescence and Girlhood are my personal faves, but "cry a little" (found in Girlhood) is really daww inducing.

Re-Take is an amazing read for any NGE fan. It provides a satisfactory ending to EoE, and it just doesn't leaving you hanging off a cliff with your pinky finger. The hentai scenes ARE pretty explicit, but the All Ages version omits those. :P

I wouldn't go with an amazing read for any NGE fan; a lot of fans don't like NGE, and it's not for everyone, admittedly, just like how the manga, or rebuild are not for everyone.

But I still mantain All ages feels a bit flat without the sex scenes, because I can't see Shinji's action under that context; the sex gives his need to save Asuka a bigger context, especially given the final chapters; heck even After seems a bit flat(er) because of that.

There's no such thing as a good Eva doujinshi, unless you're looking for fap material.

True. Re-Take did provide a logical hypothetical conclusion though. :asuka_happy:

Indeed it did. And I'm saying that outside of my personal bias.

I read Re-Take and was blown away, really professional. Nearly made me not hate EOE. Can you suggest me some other good doujinshi?

Doesn't have to be masterpieces, but I don't do pure hentai. Hold the "Asuka Rapes Shinji" 5 volume sagas.
