Most EPIC scene in the entire franchise?

I think the best scene evar!! Is Asuka beating up Shinji naked in 2.22.
I've not laughed that hard in a good while.

What do you think it the most epic scene in EVA?

I hadn't meant this as a Rebuild topic only that with everything in the franchise games, manga, TV series and anything else. What seems like the most epic scene? Even though Rebuild 3 and 4 aren't out...

Aside from the entirety of The End of Evangelion, mine has to be Episode 16. It was the battle with Leliel that I caught on TV one night that made me perk up and say "Hey, this Eva I keep hearing about is freaking amazing!"

But in the Rebuild universe I'd say the Sahaquiel incident gets me pumped. A LOT.

Epic to me means Lord of the Rings.

I think its pretty obvious that insane battle the end of 2.22 is the most epic scene out of any part of the franchise. It had everything that makes Eva epic; i.e. Shinji screaming, naked Rei, berserk Evas, angel wings, Ritsuko sounding prophetic. It out Lorded the Rings in my opinion. My jaw was dropped.

It's because since this thread covers the entire franchise, it might contain spoilers about Rebuild, so it's put in the Rebuild section so no one accidentally reads spoilers.

As for the most epic scene ever: For me, that would have to be the ending to Rebuild 2.0, if only because they were obviously gunning for that.

In terms of truly EPIC, you really can't beat EoE's KST and subsequent termination of 3I... Special effects couldn't do as much back then, but those scenes literally were global and pan-humanity in scope -- and involved a being so colossally gigantic she couldn't fit inside the atmosphere.
