He's not, though. Spike lives in LA now, Funimation only brought him back to Texas to do Eva. The voice of Briefs (according to the cast list) is the guy who did Jacuzzi Splot (pfffffffdhahahahaha, you have the worst names ever Baccano) on Baccano.

Wow... I guess there won't be a BluRay.

Either way, the "performances", if they can be called such, struck me as flat. I'm not a fan of dubbing, at least not in the manner of which Funimation, the once ADV, & the rest of their ilk seem to go about it - which is to hire awfully flat vocal actors & whoever happens to be lying around the office & then have some guy who couldn't direct people to a bathroom "direct" their "performances". I'll stick to the sub.

Only interesting thing for me was the new Funimation logo which I'll be seeing a lot of in a few years when they release 3.0.

They're only releasing a Limited Edition release? That can't be right. I guess they're anticipating only so many orders of the DVD, but why not release a normal edition as well? http://www.funimation.com/panty-stockin ... garterbelt

But anyway, it comes with a Heaven Coin: http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 4913/4/0/0

I feel like I'm missing something regarding this release, maybe it works as a business model and I'm just behind the times, I dunno.

Personally speaking, I already watched the show and thoroughly enjoyed it so I don't have much of a reason to buy it (besides the fact I have no source of income). I should watch that "extra" episode (I guess it's included on the DVD?) sometime, I forgot all about that.

Incidentally, if anyone is curious about the dub you can watch the first two episodes on Funimation's website (gotta make an account though).

DVD only? Bizarrely stupid. I mean, blueray also sucks and physical media are dying hella fast, but they're releasing it on basically a dead format instead of a dying one?

Anime Distributors are the worst.

Mugwump: Goddamn it, Xard! Take me in your arms, you magnificent sex god bastard!
And don't forget to wear the Ran mask.
Eva Yojimbo: You really are the Otaku equivalent of a Catholic and Jew rolled up into one giant dakimakura of guilt.
Gob Hobblin: Sanctimonious, subtly racist, vaguely misogynist, somehow says something while at the same time saying...nothing, really, at all....

Nice, Xard. That's nice.

The Japanese licensor (Kadokawa) is at fault, not the American distributor, at worst Funi's fault lies in refusing to pick their shows unless they allow them to distribute them on BD. It's really old news but just in case:

Oh look, reverse importation fears strike again.

This isn't going to work unless Japan gets serious about moving to the forefront of video quality again and starts migrating to their 8k format ten years before the rest of the world does.

Frankly, I feel like not buying the release now...

It's a $50 (on Amazon) DVD-only purchase.... If it is was Bluray maybe I'd be interested in purchasing it but since I never intend to watch the awful dub & I can easily find a better quality version offline - hell, I have it on a harddrive - there's little reason to go out of my way to own this.

Maybe if they can get the series on Bluray for a lesser price. Otherwise, this is not a worthy purchase for me.

The PSG DVD set will be on sale in Australia on/around October 24. As it is essentially identical to the Funi release, there is no accompanying BD release.

Funimation really made it seem like they were just acquiring a DVD release and that was that. Maybe there were contractual reasons that they couldn't mention later acquiring the BD release, but seriously? That's just a good way to piss off fans, I think.

I don't have money to get either release, but if I was in a position of having already bought the DVD release, I would have been mad.

Just started watching this series...

ER. MAH. GERD.

It's like an American Saturday morning cartoon, except good. And outrageous.

I mean, seriously, WTF? Underwear pistols? UNDERWEAR PISTOLS?

On a side note, every Brony ever should be forced to watch this show.
