It looks like Gainax is making a new anime and the only detail that's released is that it's going to take place in Britian between 1900 and 1930.

But how are they going to make 1900s Britain moé?! That's the only way it'll be financially successful!

Hmm, apparently they welcome non-Japanese employees (of course, you need to know the language) for this show.

I hope this'll turn out to be a good series, whatever it is.

Just when I thought Gainax couldn’t sink any lower.

Not really. Besides, the Gurren Lagann team is working on this series so it's going to be awesome. :w00t:

The title is Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. Yeah.

The story centers around a teen-celebrity-like blond-haired girl named Panty and a black-haired Goth Loli girl named Stocking. The two are angels sent from the heavens to battle the "Ghosts" on Earth.
Mmkay, so it looks like they're just doing Shikabane Hime again in 1900s England.

I'll keep fingers crossed.

I was on board with Gurren Lagann the minute Hiroyuki Imaishi was signed on as director because I knew his talent would create an insane balls to the wall TV anime. And it surpassed my expectations. But storywise I was also on board with GL the main narrative sounded slightly compelling.

Everything from the character descriptions to setting to title though sounds lamer than lame. BUT I'll put some trust in Imaishi for the first couple episodes.

Two notes though- expect one of these girls to out cute Nia and the other to out bust Yoko. It seems only natural.

So right now it's a series that has more compelling elements behind the scenes than in subject material. It will be colorful and energetic though.

...It can't be any blander than Shikibane Hime can it? Can it?

That's just because he used the phrase "balls to the wall" in an early press release.

is there any indication that this still has anything to do with 1900's England?

And Imaishi = badass. I still have hope.
