Evangelion 2
Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I still have a lot of unanswered questions about the Eva PS2 game!
Since I'm unable to import Japanese copy, my only hope would be if it was ported and shipped to NA.
Anyone know who would port it, or even if it's being released in North America at all?
Any feedback would be awsome

Its a Bandai game, and bandai brings quite a few of its anime-ish games stateside, such as Gundam and Dragon Ball games. However, Evangelion 2 is not only extremely atypical of American video games, but it is also a niche interest without any mainstream exposure to warrant porting the game to US PS2.
Believe me, I wish it would come out over here, but it just isn't happening anytime soon.

Yeah, but those games go with series that were on CN and EVA will never be on that... I hope...

But wait...... arn't there quite a few of us EVA fans out there? I mean come on! Just look at how many fansites, forums, fanart, fanfics and other EVA-related things there are out there! The market for the game is there, Bandai just dosn't relize it yet!

Trust me, I'm fairly well read when it comes to the video game industry.
1) Eva 2 is essentially a choose your own adventure with a dating sim system, something that is the complete polar opposite of American gaming.
2) Eva has quite a few fans over here, but not all Eva fans are gamers. You play games and you like Eva, and you assume the rest of the Eva fans are gamers. However, not everyone is.
3) A product has to do well outside of the fanbase. There has to be plenty of copies bought by people who aren't that into it. There has to be appeal outside of the fanbase. Eva 2 is a game that caters to hardcore Eva fans, this negates that spill over.
If I've done my math, Bandai would have to sell something like 25,000-50,000 copies of a ported title like Eva 2 to turn a profit. That is a considerable amount of copies. And I doubt there are that many Eva fans out there willing to buy the game.

So!
Bandai could simply port a smaller quantity of the games to NA.
Bandai could possibly do a tv commercial for the game (on Cartoon Network for better synergy)
I'm sure both anime fans and gamers alike would agree that it's about time that a Japanese "Choose your own Adventure" game was brought stateside, er....Canada-side
I'm not asking for a huge endevour on Bandai America's part, I just think it couldn't hurt (profit wise) to give it a shot
Anybody know about a petition going on for the game?

we all would sign it.
if the game was released in the us it could spark a intrest in eva to the public but bandai will not risk losing millions of dollars in a north american eva 2 realese.
i sencerly hope they do and i could be wrong it is just so unlikely
but if there is a petition i will sign it
