One of the better aspects of the Platinum edition is that a certain number of the Japanese captions and writing on screen are included in the subtitles on screen. This is quite useful and illuminating at times. However I never expected these subtitles to provoke the kind of coffee upsetting spasms induced by the following.

Droll to say the least. But I can't help but wonder if the translation might be taking liberties. Did Naoko really write this. Submitted for your consideration.

Oh stop crying.... though volumes 1-4 cost me like $125... XD anything for my fav show right!?! RIGHT!?!
Anyways I thought the Ikari you jerk thing was pretty cool. It was probly some sort of in the moment act but it could also have been a warning to her daughter like "dont fuck this guy, I did now look where i am" lol.

The blown-up screencap is unavailable.
I don't know the kanji for Ikari, but I definitely see "baka" in there. It appears to read "Ikari no BAKA YAROU" or "Idiot rascal Ikari". Beneath that, it looks like the katakana "me", but it could just be an "X" drawn on the note buried underneath.
Being that Naoko was fucking Gendo up until her demise, I'm not certain that she would write that. It is possible that she was intensely angered by his endless fixation on his wife, and this was written in emotional exasperation as the affair began to grow real emotional roots. It could also be addressing Yui and not Gendo, assuming "Ikari" is what the kanji reads. She was the original one, after all.

Yeh, ages ago I heard that she had written "Ikari, you idiot!" on one of the notes.
"Dying is not romantic, and death is not a game which will soon be over...Death is not anything...Death is not...It's the absence of presence , nothing more...The endless time of never coming back...a gap you can't see, and when the wind blows through it, it makes no sound..."
