Is it just me, or does Eva scream for some latin opera in the background?

well, there may be GERMAN opera, sorta: Beethoven's 9th has a full chorus in its final movement-- can't remember if that's the movement in the Kaoru ep, tho.

I'm not big on latin opera, but it would fit well with Eva I think.

Isn't there already opera peices in Eva during the later episodes? Is it latin or Italian? I'm bad with deciphering opera ^^;;.

Good call tho Dave.

I always thought Eva could use a little bit more rock...something a little more inspiring for the fight sequences. But Eva isn't really all about the action, is it.

I always thought Eva could have used some polka in the background, 'cause you know, it's sorely lacking. Also there are a few holes that just scream for death metal... oh, and let's not forget Tejano music. Maybe they should have added some gangsta rap for diversity, though it might be argued that the Tejano would cover that, and also PPPPTTTTHHHHHPPPPP.

Good idea Hexon, but let's not forget a few happy Christmas jingles. Those things really do evoke the same awe and wonder that Eva can.

What songs would you best suit to an Eva character?

Simple topic. If you listen to a certain song and at the same time, compare it with one of the Eva characters for their personality, what would be your choice of songs for that character?

Here are mine:

Shinji

Pearl Jam - Jeremy

Fear Factory - Timelessness

Asuka

Slipknot - Before I Forget

Machinehead - Imperium

Rei

Tool - Parabol/Parabola

System Of A Down - Spiders

Misato

Metallica - Turn The Page

If so...

Asuka:

Pink Floyd - Careful with that axe, Eugene.

You know, the axe she's climbing at in ep. 16... <chuckles>

Ok, that one wasn't so very good...

What about...

Shinji: Opeth - To Bid You Farewell

I am awaiting the sunrise
Gazing modestly through the coldest morning
Once it came you lied
Embracing us over autumn's proud treetops

I stand motionless
In a parade of falling rain
Your voice I cannot hear
As I am falling again

Devotion eludes
And in sadness I lumber
In my own ashes I am standing without a soul
She wept and whispered: "I know..."

We walked into the night
Am I to bid you farewell?

Why can't you see that I try
When every tear I shed
Is for you?
"Meglio soli che mal accompagnati."
