I was thinking of doing a CYOA of my own. I know I discussed this before. Adn got a lot of negative responses. While one of them is Shinji I was not going to try to make it like LEgends, in fact what i have in mind for Shinji is to take elements of the SIRP game and manga, EVA2 and NGE and put them together. There will be a shop you can visit to buy presents for your romantic interests and things to replenish stats and improve synch ratio. And everyone will be a choice, you can go for Kaworu when he arrives, Toji, Kensuke, Any or all of the girls including Misato and Ritsuko as well the three female techies in them manga and Maya. If that doesnt sound appealing I was thinking of making a SIRP for another cast member, like the stooges, Hikari, Ritsuko or Maya. Maybe even just a nameless kid in 2-A who can be developed later on. PLease leave me your feedback.

EDIT: oops, I forgot that SSD already has Misato.

As long as it's not similar to the other CYOAs and something different, go for it.

It'd still be a good idea if it could be about somebody other then Shinji, like say Toji since he's the only pilot not to have one.

A CYOA based on Maya could be quite interesting, seeing as she's almost in the know and in a position to affect all sorts of major events, and also in the midst of a romantic quest for sempai! while fending off Aoba and Kaji's advances. Plenty of conflict to explore there.

Well like I said for Shinji; I was thinking of using some stuff from EVA2, like giving a regular salary from NERV that you can buy presents and stuff with. Plus I was going to throw in Mana and Mayumi too. I was also thinking of doing one for Mari but we dont know much about her and always having to use spoiler tags would be a pain But I would also try going for the feel and light hearted aspect of the SIRP manga maybe instead of going all out canon NGE. But like I said theres the three female techies from SIRP, Maya, Hikari, Rits-chan, the stooges, or just a nameless kid from Shinji's class. I kinda want to know what other people think. Which might be better? Any thoughts anyone?

@NemZ: I honestly thought a Maya or Rits-chan would be good.
@Legend: I could do Touji also. But I need to get in his head, nothin personal but hes never been my favorite character (that spots saved for Shin-chan ). Also if I did touji I would have to decide if I should start from before Shinji arrives, or after they become friends.

EDIT: P.S. What do you think of my nameless kid in Shin's class ideal or the EVA2/SIRP universe concept?

I Agree that Toji don't get no love but Great Genius Shinji-Sama do what your heart tells ya. Doing a good job and making a interesting enough scenario is all that matters in the end.

I personally wouldn’t mind if you did a Shinji one, as long as it’s like you said, not like Legendary's. If you made it more light hearted and comical (like Lucretius Rei CYOA), I think it could be good. Unlike the sad/train wreak ending Legendary's is looking like its gona be (considering we already died twice).

It doesn't have to end that way and it probably won't. There's lots of time to earn your happy ending.


Now, GGSS, you asked me what I thought of the ideas, so here:

Random classmate: My main issue here is that the CYOA completely marginalizing the character. You're a random student. You go to school, because if you don't, you have no one to interact with and nowhere to go (Nerv is off-limits to civilians). When you're done with school, you hang out with friends. You might make SOME impact on the overall course of the pilots, but there's not a lot of content unless you become an Eva pilot... and if you want to write about non-canonical Eva piloting; Mari or one of the NAMED classmates would be a better choice.

SIRP game: If you make it sufficiently different from mine in style (like going comedy), this would work. But if you make it mine + money concerns/gifting/a few additional elements that don't really make it much different, then I'd really prefer you didn't.

Well, adding in all the EVA2 stuff is too complicated for a simple fun cyoa foum based game anyways, legend. Although I thought of several funny crackilicous things to throw at people for a comedy version, including having EVERYONE including Kaworu,Toji, and Kensuke being an option for Shinji's pairing and even a harem ending if they play it right. Another idea I really favored was going with either Maya or Ritsuko.

How about a Maya one. We almost never see what she does other than shout stuff. We see few examples like on the train or on break, but nothing else really.

It's early in the morning of June 5th, 2015. You have been up all night helping Akgai-sempai with the recalibrating of Unit 00 after the berserker incident a few months ago. After hitting the alarm clock and getting up you:
